Remind us again of the steps.

If it is “applications” that are needed from 2/3’s of the states for an Article V Convention of States, then we’re only four shy.

Great news.

Meanwhile, states, start nullifying unconstitutional federal acts.

Thank you for posting. Most of the time I have been depending on direct email updates via http://www.conventionofstates.com/

It has become very frustrating to read the discussions on FR. The left provides me with enough negativity and it is just too disheartening to see it here too. Hand wringing what-iffers who continue to ramble on about a “runaway convention” or “concon”.

IMO-If you say you are a Constitutional conservative and sit at a keyboard throwing up reasons why using Article V of the Constitution will not work, then you do not understand the Constitution.

Each application must be passed by both houses of a state's legislature. As of today, we're still 3 down and 31 to go.

So as far as I know then, three have actually applied according to Article V definition, 27 are in the application process, and four have yet to begin the application process.

Headwinds, patience, and faith.

For those who think the Article V process is too risky, I repeat what other posters have said, "What other options do you see?"

To summarize from a previous post by Grace G, I see it as:

1. Elect More Republicans - Failed due to RINO/Uni-party confluence.

2. Article V Convention of States to propose Amendments - Needed to try to take power from the federal government back to the states and reel in the the federal leviathan.

3. State Nullification - Last ditch effort to try to take power back from the federal monster, though by this point it may be too late...

4. State Secession - Could either end up peaceably like the breakup of the Czechoslovakia in 1993 or a brutal:

5. Civil War II like the first one.... The longer we wait on #2, the more likely #3, then #4 and finally #5. .

Quick review: We need 34 states to pass an application, then Congress shall, by law, call a Convention of States as soon as it receives application from 2/3 of the State Legislatures. That's 34 states. We now have 30 working on it.

Please see this great summary video below from Alabama first.

Most FReepers are aware of these links, but I post anyway for review and for people new to Article V. It is our responsibility to make Article V the most understood aspect of the US Constitution.

How do you propose to see that the constitution is enforced?

Please keep posting your links. It was Ulysses At The Mast, pinged to me by RepealThe17th a couple years ago that forced me to rethink an Article V state convention to propose amendments.

IT’S NOT A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION!!!

It’s a convention of the states to PROPOSE AMENDMENTS to the Constitution.

Our corrupt Congress can propose amendments and no one cares, so why shouldn’t our state legislatures have that power?

I can tell you one thing, the Congress will NEVER pass congressional term limits. The states MAY.

And any amendment that’s passed has to be ratified by 3/5 of the states.

This process gives the states some power against the federal leviathan.

I will continue to post them, even if redundant for a lot of FReepers. New people see them and let me know, so will keep posting. Thanks for the feedback. Have been posting about every other thread, but will keep them going. They certainly aren't all inclusive, but they're a good introduction to Article V.

As mentioned in my link intro, I am more and more convinced, (as stated by Grace G), that it's :

1. Elect More Republicans - This has Failed due to RINO/Uni-party confluence.

The longer we wait on #2, the more likely #3, then #4 and finally #5. .

Thank you Jacquerie for all the work you have done.
