The future of the internet is about to be decided. Will it continue to be a place where dreams are born, dissent is protected, and democracy thrives? That depends on a crucial net neutrality vote at the Federal Communications Commission on February 26.
Internet Service Providers want to break the internet into fast and slow lanes that sell public voice to the highest bidder. If we lose that vote, the most democratic communications platform the world has ever seen could become more like cable TV, a fairly scary place that reproduces the economic gaps and racial hierarchies of the offline world.
A year ago, when a DC circuit court struck down the first round of hard-won net neutrality rules, the courts decision charged its proponents with the daunting task of persuading the FCC to reclassify broadband as a common carrier, under Title II of the Communications Act.

The left’s regulation of TV is why it looks the way it looks.
Do these leftists not understand how ridiculous they sound to sensible people?
“Common sense” speech control — it’s for the children.
Yeah, and they have this whole cable channel called WET, white entertainment television.
Even NPR puts “Open Internet” in “quotes”... as the most “transparent administration in history” still can’t seem to find the light switch...tyranny anyone? From the article (link below)
“Thursday’s vote comes after Commissioners Michael O’Rielly and Ajut Pai asked that the FCC ‘immediately release’ the 332-page Internet regulation plan publicly and allow the American people a reasonable period of not less than 30 days to carefully study it. That request was denied; we’ll post the document here when it’s available.”
Net Neutrality is the seizing of private property and as such, should be compensated according to the Constitution.
Does this provide a loophole for the return of dialup internet connections? Slower, yes. But is it possible it could be an unregulated entity not covered by this newest 'ruling'?
My 2 cents on the FCC’s takeover of the Internet. By making the internet a utility it also opens the door for the U.S. Post Office to declare that all e-mail must go through Post Office E-mail servers so as to be properly taxed as to the amount of bandwidth a message will use.
Text only will be the cheapest with attached photographs and Videos becoming the most expensive. Bulk rate and business e-mails will of course getting a small price break.
I would guess not since dial-up still uses the internet to transmit packets. Dial-up internet is still internet, just using a different medium for the “last mile” connection.

That is exactly what they did. Yet we have idiots on this forum that are happy about it.
If they can regulate ISPs then they can regulate web sites like Free Republic. And they will.
Beware! If the Guardian is for it, by definition, it’s wrong.
Coming soon...
Morons, dupes or liars! The entire lot of them!
