The Big Melt: Antarctica's Retreating Ice May Re-Shape Earth
MSN.com ^ | 27 February 2015 | Luis Andres Henao and Seth Borenstein

Water is eating away at the Antarctic ice, melting it where it hits the oceans...And the melting is accelerating...Climate change has shifted the wind pattern around the continent, pushing warmer water farther north against and below the western ice sheet and the peninsula.

As I have said before, liberalism isn’t about being right, it’s about feeling righteous.

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/nov/24/antarctic-ice-thicker-survey-finds

Groundbreaking 3D mapping of previously inaccessible areas of the Antarctic has found that the sea ice fringing the vast continent is thicker than previous thought.

Two expeditions to Antarctica by scientists from the UK, USA and Australia analysed an area of ice spanning 500,000 metres squared, using a robot known as SeaBed.

Wasn't it just last "summer" in the antarctic that several ships , including ice breakers got stuck?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/01/08/russian-research-ship-breaks-free-antarctic-ice/

A Russian research ship at the center of an Antarctic rescue drama has broken free from heavy pack ice two weeks after it became trapped, officials confirmed on Wednesday, hours after a Chinese icebreaker that became trapped while trying to help the Akademik Shokalskiy also freed itself and was heading for open waters.

The Akademik Shokalskiy had been trapped in ice-clogged Commonwealth Bay since Christmas Eve, while the Chinese ship that came to its rescue, Xue Long, or Snow Dragon in Chinese, reported last week it too was stuck.

But the Snow Dragon was able to use its helicopter to retrieve 52 scientists, journalists and tourists from the Russian ship. They are now on their way home aboard an Australian icebreaker, Aurora Australis.

My god, we get the same article EVERY year at the height of the Antarctic summer - decade after decade. And it becomes more and more bogus every year.

Sounds like a winter/summer thing to me, with the overall trend towards cooling, more ice, deeper ice, and unswerving faith from the warming fanatics.

Just to be clear.

According to those “scientists” models, that WASN’T ICE that trapped them.

I’m still trying to figure out where all the CO2 came from that melted the glaciers that carved out the Great Lakes. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that during the Industrial Revolution in the late 1800’s?

You might want to tweet that fact to Fat Al and the climate fraud trio of Hansen, Jones and Mann!

Ok,

Well done, and I’m well aware of the story.

My point was both an expression of irony, that “climate Scientist” got trapped in ice that their own “Models” are and have predicted shouldn’t exist, with a touch of sarcasm.

And now from the Global Warming desk in the news room...

Hey, somebody wake him up. If we don’t get a good Global Warming scare this week, he’s out of a job.

And now, from the Global Warming desk, here’s...

There was a side of the story put out that they got stuck due to poor communication, meaning they ignored the captains instruction to limit the ice tour time to 1 hour since floes were moving into their area.

There’s a hundred more miles of ice this year, isn’t there? More to melt, and it’s summer...

"Antarctic sea ice continues to grow beyond record coverage."

I've been following the global ice charts on the University of Illinois website for several years, and I've noticed that despite alarmist coverage of reductions in artic ice, the ongoing robustness of the Antarctic ice is almost NEVER reported in the media. And the global ice coverage, as of a few days ago when I last looked, is right at the 45-year global average.
