Robertson kicked off his speech by quoting one of the founding fathers, as he told the audience; 'You lose your religion, according to John Adams, and there goes your morality. We're almost there.'

Robertson closed out his speech by saying; 'And if you hate me because I told you that, I told you my love for you is not contingent on how you feel about me. I love you anyway. I don't want to see you die early or get sick. I'm trying to help you, for crying out loud. America, if I didn't care about you, why would I bring this up?

The writer of this piece for the Daily Mail, Chris Spargo, hatefully infused his own venom into the article, pointing out that Robertson has admitted to his own infidelity. Yes, Robertson did admit his sin, before he was saved back in the 1960's and 1970's! Robertson's admission does not make him a hypocrite. He was a child of sin, like we all are, but Christ and the Holy Spirit made him a new person.

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

2 Corinthians 5:17

Readers also mocked his Bible with duct tape on it. That means he reads it people.

By the way, the 110 million STD figure comes from our own CDC findings this week.

You gotta love Phil Robertson. Political correctness is one of his strong suits.

Also, this is the current highest rated reader comment on the UK site, from a reader in Dallas TX name Darryl Willis:

"Let me get this straight, if a guy has been an alcoholic he can't challenge others to give up drinking unless he does a mea culpa every time he speaks? Even though he may have not touched a drop in 20 or 30 years? That's holding the speaker to an impossibly high standard--like um, perfection. Just because he didn't bring up his past doesn't mean he can't speak to the issue. Is he currently unfaithful? If he is that would be hypocrisy. While I don't follow Duck Dynasty and generally don't make comments about them it just seems to me that if a person confronts popular culture he or she is held to a different standard. From what I know of Phil and clan, he believes sincerely in grace and forgiveness and would probably hold out forgiveness to anyone regardless of the behavior. Disagree with the man if you will, disagree with his controversial statements. But don't hold him to a different standard than the standard you hold of a friend who agrees with you."

Humanity has not changed since the ancient days. The sinful spend a great portion of their time and energy engaging in lust, violence, greed, and all the rest, and the rest of their energy attacking anyone who points out the Truth about their own sinful condition. Without the mercy of God, we are all lost.

What about the elephant in the room? 2012 stats from the CDC =>

________________________________________________________________

The rate of chlamydia among blacks was almost seven times the rate among whites (1,229.4 and 179.6 cases per 100,000 population, respectively).

________________________________________________________________

...gonorrhea rates remained highest among blacks (462.0 cases per 100,000 population) (Table 22B). The rate among blacks was 14.9 times the rate among whites (31.0 per 100,000 population).

This despite the fact that he has numerous affairs in the past, something he did not bring up in his speech.

Ergo, if a hypocrite tells you that stealing is wrong, and it turns out he stole in the past, it must follow that stealing is right.

You would not want to know the sins I committed, before our Lord showed me a way out of my former liberal believing life. Thank You, Lord.

There’s no way I can possibly believe that number. Think about it. There are about 300 million Americans.
20% of that number are under the age of 15.
That would mean that 45% of adults have an STD.
I looked up that 20% of adults see they have had only one partner.

That number is totally BS.

And in his remarks, that ran 20 minutes long, the polarizing reality star focused on one thing in particular - sexually transmitted diseases in America.

I watched the speech. He actually focused on The Bible and how important religion was in the framing of our Constitution. The STD thing was a blip during the speech, IMO

Robertson, 68, is a devout Christian who made his millions inventing the Duck Commander, an instrument used by hunters that makes suck calls.

I'm pretty sure the writer meant to say "duck" calls.

That statistic is hard to believe. There are about 150 million individual taxpayers in the USA. If the 110 million Americans with STD is true, that means just about every working American has an STD.

I think the definition of STD is suspect here or is too broad to get worked up about. Mono and cold sores should not count. Herpes is often misdiagnosed for cold sores.

I think Robertson should have focused on free speech issues and homosexual marriage. STD issues based on suspect overbroad statistical gathering is hardly worth a report.

Staying faithful? LOL!

No one is faithful anymore. Husbands CONSTANTLY cheat on their wives and wives CONSTANTLY cheat on their husbands.

More than 1/3 of Americans have V.D. right this minute?

From that article...

“One of the more concerning findings was that there are nearly 20 million new infections each year, and half of those occur among young people (aged 15 to 24).”

“Eight STDs were included in the analysis, conducted by researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They included chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B virus (HBV), herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), HIV, human papillomavirus (HPV), syphilis and trichomoniasis.”

“All sexually active gay and bisexual men should be screened at least once a year for syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV. Those who have multiple or anonymous partners should be screened more frequently for STDs (preferably three- to six-month intervals). In addition, those who also use illegal drugs, particularly methamphetamine, or whose partners use drugs should be screened more frequently.”

I skimmed the CDC for some numerical charts (existing cases vs. new cases, etc.) but didn’t find one quickly

Notice how liberals are never polarizing or extreme people? The low IQ voters appreciate that.

By this author’s logic? no one who has ever sinned can call sin a sin.

The ever present unbeliever’s uninformed Biblical reference for us “not to judge”.

Pathetic!

STD's aren't the only things hippies are responsible for. They're also responsible for the totalitarian states that our universities have become and for the election of Obama. The d@mn thugs posed as carefree let-it-all-hang-out anarchists but all they wanted was to turn the USA into a totalitarian "people's republic" ruled by a "great helmsman" whose will was law. And now they've got it.

May they all burn in Gei-Benei-Hinnom!
