Before the end of March, Wisconsin will likely become the 25th state to allow workers the choice of whether or not to join a union. With the pending enactment of a so-called Right to Work law, Wisconsin will join Indiana, Iowa and Michigan as the only Midwestern or Northeastern states without compulsory union membership. It could also power Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to the Republican nomination.
It could be said that Walkers campaign for the nomination began in 2011, when he pushed Act 10, a law stripping public sector employees of many collective bargaining rights, through the legislature. The proposal set off furious protests from labor unions, who occupied the state Capitol for weeks.
Act 10 sparked a series of recall elections against several state Senators and Walker himself. There was also a vigorous campaign for a seat on the state Supreme Court, with the ultimate constitutionality of the law hanging in the balance. Walker and his allies prevailed in those contests.
Walker went on to win reelection in 2014, giving him victories in three heavily contested, statewide elections in just four years. Few politicians have won such a succession of high-profile campaigns in so short a time, especially in a political swing state such as Wisconsin.

Don't the Dakotas, Kansas and Nebraska count as Midwestern states?
Are Walker supporters one-issue voters?
Fox is giving the CPAC poll right now,
5. Bush, 4. Carson, 3. Cruz..... so that means,
Paul and Walker will be the two finalists.......
Winner: Rand Paul, 2nd, Scott Walker. I am surprised.

Which issue are you referring to?
Name one, other than Walker, who has had to try.
how much of a fight did he put up on gay “marriage”?
THAT's the single issue you think Walker supporters are focused on?
Or did you mean Walker opponents?
Well, wait, isn't it amnesty?
This writer seems to have a leftist bias. Why do we never read about a 'so-called "Affordable Care Act"'?
lol
Walker is my choice.

“Don’t the Dakotas, Kansas and Nebraska count as Midwestern states?”
No their west of the Mississippi river and clearly don’t connect with the Great lakes.(means inadequate water for great manufacturing & trade based industry) That means they will always have relatively low populations and be what the easterner call “Empty quarter” states thus they are Geographically, Economically, culturally, and ideologically Western States.
As for Wisconsin’s Governor Walker, im sold, we should make this man President, he can help turn the tide nationally by pushing back against leftist policies that feed the corrupt Democrat machine.
Nicely done.
Why, Paul wins every time. It’s CPAC.
It’s like being the team with the best record in Pre-Season, it means squat.
Yes they are midwestern states but they are also called the Great Plains states and the midwest are those states just to the left (looking south).
