Brother, you are so right. I have been saying the same thing for years. Wars are not won with scalpels, they are won with broadswords and axes. Lots and lots and lots of dumb bombs iow.

I think we make a mistake with our snipers as well.

A head shot, in the minds of the target’s comrades, instantly and painlessly removes the jihadist from Hell on earth (living in a primitive and brutal muslim land) to a paradise of literal fountains of milk and honey, surrounded by 72 virgins and 18 ‘young boys like pearls’ eager to satisfy his every sexual desire.

Aim for the small head guys!

Now Achmed’s buddies get to see him scream and curse, watch him slowly and painfully bleed out, with the sure and certain knowledge that if, if he makes it to paradise he will have no ability to enjoy the virgins and young boys.

And if Achmed manages to survive, he’s a living example that allah is not merciful. He’s an object of pity and disgust, not someone to be emulated.

100% agree. . Imagine if the third Reich only received precision attacks. An enemy need to have their hearts broken. That’s how a people finally give up.

Smart bombs are counterproductive in that they dont create the horror needed to end war. To win you must demoralize the population by destroying entire neighborhoods rather than blowing up a few strategic buildings. The enemy must KNOW they are defeated and beg for peace. Without that the war just goes on forever.

From an Old Soldier

As usual, SOETORO gave his MILKTOAST response to the inhuman and brutal murder of the Jordanian pilot. . ..but then again, what else should we have expected from him?

Personally, I say, “do unto others as they have done unto you”. . ...take that female ISIS bomber out into the public, make her walk to her death as they did the pilot unto a cage, then pour gasoline over her head. . ..trail it out into the sand as they did the pilot, then lite the fuse. . .. . ...

Until the world starts treating these bloodthirsty animals EXACTLY as they are treating the world. . .. . .they deserve no respect as human beings and without force applied in a MANNER THEY UNDERSTAND, they will never be defeated. . ...the first rule of warfare is simply :

1. The are no rules in War.

2. The second Rule of Warfare is:
Treat your enemy with the same degree of ruthlessness as they have display against you. . ..if you expect to win. . .otherwise you might as well surrender and accept your faith before the war starts.

3. The third Rule of Warfare is:
Fight to win. Don’t fight to win a draw. don’t place restrictions on those who have to do the dirty fighting and don’t compromise, don’t negotiate, and don’t stop until you have eliminated the last standing enemy combatant from the field of battle. . .. . .even if that will take you and your nation a hundred years.

4. The fourth Rule of Warfare is:
Show no mercy because you will not see mercy if your enemy wins.

5. The fifth Rule of Warfare is:
Fight your enemy down and dirty, and in the same manner he is fighting you. The “Marquis of Queensberry” rules do not apply to modern warfare.

5. The sixth Rule of Warfare is:
Write the history of the war engagements down in true a fashion so that future generations may learn from the mistakes of their forefathers,. . . or be prepared to go to war and do it all over again.

6. The seventh Rule of Warfare IS:
Remember that politics cease when a war begins. More wars have been lost throughout all history by politicians, than by the soldiers who were doing the fighting. If it is worthy of going to war in the first place, then it’s worthy of committing the soul of the nation to a victory. . .otherwise you will feel the heel of your opponents boot on your neck for a long time thereafter.

Just the thoughts of an old soldier that has been there. The Rules are real, and so is War.

Nothing wrong with using our bombs — but they can’t be your whole strategy.

More and bigger explosions do not always yield militarily better results. With the aid of drones and smart weapons, we are fighting what, fifty years ago, would have been a major war, but that now requires only a relatively small commitment of resources and minimal loss of life. This permits us to carry on the effort indefinitely and to aim at victory by the accumulation of small advantages and by inducing favorable changes in the Muslim world.

Islamists frustrated by their inability in years of war to beat us on the battlefield have increasingly turned their destructive energies on fellow Muslims who are seen as inadequate in doctrine or loyalty. This has led to a decline in the popularity and appeal of Islamists, especially where they achieve power in a Muslim country.

Thus in Egypt, a brutal and thuggish elected Muslim Brotherhood government was overthrown by a military coup. The resulting al-Sisi government has suppressed the Muslim Brotherhood, with al-Sisi himself calling on Muslim scholars for reforms and co-existence with non-Muslims.

Such developments would have been extremely unlikely if the US were carpet bombing our enemies in the Muslim world.

Arc light strikes are always impressive. Choose a Syrian or Iraqi town teeming with ISIS and one arc light strike would scare the bejesus out of them.

The point of these strikes isn’t for when there’s a whole bunch of bad guys in one place. It’s for when there’s a couple and they’re surrounded by civilians or stuff we’d rather not blow up. If we didn’t have these methods of attack we wouldn’t be using B52s on them, we’d just be letting them go. The problem with terrorists is they aren’t really into large groups and stand up fights, if they were we’d have won already. Big bombing runs aren’t really effective in this kind of fight, we’d still only be killing 2 or 3 bad guys, just with a lot more ordinance and collateral damage.

Wars are won by sending men, braver and tougher than the enemy, to kill them.
