I am very careful when purchasing firearms. I check their temperament and their behavior in the store before bringing them into my home. So far I’ve managed to avoid the Pit Bulls and Rottweilers of the firearms world, and all the guns I bring home have been well behaved. Not even one has gone off without permission.
I give my shopping habits most of the credit, but I’m also a good role model. Those with poorly behaved guns could eliminate most of the problem just by setting a good example and following the Rules when their guns are watching.
Dear Lewis Grizwold of the Fresno Bee: Could you please refrain from using the term “accidental” when referring to future firearm incidents like this. Instead, please substitute the word “careless” to make your articles more truthful.
That video always blows me away. The cop is giving kids a gun safety presentation and he breaks every rule of handgun safety.
Irony....looks like an undercover DEA guy who evidently partook of the product he was trying to stamp out.

Next thing we know there will be a “gun” background check to see if it is a reliable and trustworthy weapon.
And hers would fail for going off with the reason being unknown - can't have guns that don't follow the rules.
