While the complaints are technically correct I wonder if it's because he's a soldier? Or, I wonder if they complain the same way when they see the flag desecrated by liberals all over the country?
Personally I think it's pretty cool.

I don't have too much of a problem about that picture.
One thing I hate is when Olympic (or any other) athletes wrap the flag around their shoulders and then use the flag to wipe their sweat. Hey jerk, that's a flag not a towel.

Military personnel should know better.

It’s an infant, (no doubt and American infant) wrapped in a flag, that does not touch the ground.
Infants are EXEMPT in my flag etiquette book. Sorry purists.

Oh my, child abuse! Next he’ll probably take the baby the church. Before you know it, the kid will be setting up a lemonade stand and playing cowboy and Indians.

I like the picture. It has a kink of symbolism to it. Rest in Freedom, little one!

Sign of the times in which we’re living that such a wonderful photo could be deemed ‘controversial.’

I’m well aware of flag etiquette, but I have no problem with the photo. The flag was not used as a diaper, a wipe, or bib. It was used in respectful artistic expression.

Should have known better.
This does not honor our flag.

The main reason given for protest is because of the blood sacrificed for our nation. I think my brother would agree that he died for this baby’s safety and freedom. I like it. It shows why so many come here to have their babies (which should be outlawed). I think many who gave their lives had hopes of having babies, too. Maybe using the flag to speak for the true principles of the republic is needed since the republic is in distress from within.

It also does not desecrate it, in my opinion.
With that said, I would not have done it.

I agree with those who see no real problem with it. While there is the “technical violation” of the flag rules, I like the symbolism of the photo. There is nothing disrespectful about it and promotes the idea that the child is born into, and protected by, the freedoms the flag represents.
To: raybbr
The liberals that jump on this are the same types that fiercely defended Larry Flynt’s use of the flag as a diaper in court.
As for conservatives.. come on.. we can find other things to talk about than a baby nestled in the protective folds of our country's flag.

To me, the image shows a touching “cradle of liberty.”

“Cradle Of Liberty” is an excellent title for the photo. I hope she reads Free Republic.
