Across the street, you’ll see protesters and police (on the other side of the protesters) running away just after the rounds were fired. You’ll hear at least one of the injured crying along with some heckling from a bystander. A few police returned to a low brick wall across the street soon after (and others crouching out in the open), but the bushwacker had already fled by then.

The attacker was most likely an untrained criminal either looking for revenge or more likely trying for some kind of local fame. Probably under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

Holder has done the damage he was aiming for - Ferguson police are afraid to defend themselves and others are afraid to allow it because even the best justified shooting will light the tinderbox and Holder and company will show up with trucks full of gas to spray on the flames. Holder working hard to help Obama realize a total federal police force with all the latest military gewgaws.

That is exactly what happened here in NJ when the State Police were excoriated for “racial profiling”, which was a great law enforcement process that was oversimplified to make it unacceptable (the primary determinant was out-of-state plates with no visible luggage - a tip-off of drug & gun running - not race itself). When they were called to task for it, they “stood down” - and simply wrote accident reports. City governments in northern NJ IMMEDIATELY saw a spike in gun/drug crime (Newark set a homicide record, and buses had advertisements on the side screaming “STOP THE KILLING”), and the People That Matter simply shrugged; be careful what you wish for.
