Common Core was a complete failure. A law was passed by the state ending Common Core in Oklahoma but that doesn't matter. The schools are still implementing it. One courageous teacher needed to resign her job to tell the truth.

Obama, like all dictators requires total submission to his will. The children are the place to begin. Little heads full of mush to be shaped into obedient Marxists.

...but Jebbie thinks Common Core is wonderful in spite of the failure.

She was gutsy. Hopefully there is a school that isn’t doing Common Disaster where she can use her great skills.

The Governor of Oklahoma needs to order the state police into the schools to arrest the law-breaking faculty and administrators.

That’s the only way to get through to these arrogant communist scum.

In the present computer age the old school joke of putting it in your permanent record is no longer a joke. The government is now compiling an endless electronic “Dossier” on everyone from pre-K on forward with every minor infringement in it to be used against the subjects for any reason. It is way beyond 1984.

Thank you for referencing that article detective. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

”… including the fact that it is being quietly implemented in apparent defiance of state law."

With all due respect to mom & pop, please consider the following. As a consequence of the parents of this Oklahoma teacher evidently not making sure that their daughter was taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, their daughter is not able to argue the following against Common Core.

Simply put, the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to decide policy, regulate, tax and spend for intrastate schooling purposes.

In fact, regardless that federal Democrats, RINOs, activist judges and indoctrinated attorneys will argue that if the Constitution doesn’t say that the feds can’t do something then they can do it, the Supreme Court has addressed that foolish idea too. Politically correct interpretations of the Constitution's Supremacy Clause (5.2) aside, the Court has clarified in broad terms that powers not delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to dictate policy for intrastate schools in this case, are prohibited to the feds.

”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.

They got around Texas not implementing Common Core by using on-line curriculums that ONLY teachers could access. Even the State Board of Education was kept in the dark, and state legislators.

A couple of years ago they cut some deal that supposedly gave the state back some power to regulate curriculums, but from what I could tell of it, the bastards that run education here are still in total control.

I would like to think that the legislators in Texas understand that ANY ON-LINE curriculum can be changed at will by the people that control it, but I seriously doubt that’s the case.
