Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed pride that “Washington elites despise me” because “it’s both parties that aren’t listening to the American people” on Monday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

Cruz is willing to fight. If we are anything other than a debating society of cowards, then we had better not spend time lining up future “predictions” based on fear and start swinging with him.

Very well said! Fight on, FRiends! I'm fired up.

He’s the only one in the race with logic not ego.

You either fight or stop complaining.

I didn't see a complaint in my post.

And how do you know how much a fellow Freeper fought for America or still fights for America?

You don't.

One thing about Cruz that is certainly Reaganesque — he seems to have the gift of turning the vile things said about him into political advantage, making people like him more than they did. Part of that is in his ability to poke fun at their hysterical ranting.

McCain said that he would support Cruz if he is nominated. That is better than what I thought he would say.

*sigh*

“You either fight or stop complaining.”

Means either we take his example and go all in on this fight without reservations and fear, or there is no point in being on this site complaining about the state of the nation.

I think he has a good shot at being the GOPe nominee.

Why don’t you just shut up? I’m sick of the pessimism of some on this forum. With God - ALL things are possible!

It would be interesting to see what would happen if the GOPE liberals destroy Cruz or out right steal the nomination through hook and crook and then Cruz said to hell with you all and ran as an independent. I think he would pull a significant amount of votes if this happened.
Where this to happen I think there would be some serious consideration to a new party to replace the Republicans as they have clearly gone native and are the pathetic 1988-1992 era versions of the Democrats.

Would Cruz win as a third party candidate in 2016? I don’t think so, and Hillary would win, but then again if Jeb wins, doesn’t Hillary and the left win anyway... Another butt stomping of a liberal Republican like Jeb could set the Republican Party on course for the dustbin of history as it is absorbed by the Democrat party.

Only in a feeble, weak, fallible, derivative sense. Don’t let the small h hero take your eyes off the large-c Creator and large-r Redeemer.

Cats, it is easy to forget the Lion of Judah, whether by philosophies that bid fair to upstage him or however. This is where original sin goes.

God often use people to do great deeds. God uses the willing he never forces himself on anyone. One of the problems with things is there are so few willing to allow him to work his will through them. Godly people should be honored not poo-pooed.

They should not be exalted above God in measure of fame, and that is a great American vice with its small h heros.

And guess Whom he gave glory to... now even a Ronald Reagan is shy to say anything like this because, oh, this is not a Christian nation (as though that made God go away).

You do not raise heros by feeding their egos!

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

The bible has much to say about giving honor to whom honor is do. I chose to follow that those words.

1 Timothy 5:17 ESV / 21 helpful votes

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.

Romans 13:7 ESV / 18 helpful votes

Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom
respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

Romans 12:10 ESV / 12 helpful votes

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Leviticus 19:32 ESV / 9 helpful votes

“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

Proverbs 3:27 ESV / 6 helpful votes

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.

I will not withhold the honor that any man deserves when he follows God.

The honor due to man is only derivative. The best honor you can give a man is “God showed through that man.” This is what is woefully missing in America today, and I do not know what you mean by this B.S. of “Helpful Votes” (counting words in the original tongue or something?)

And if that was not enough — let me make it crystal clear to you that the wrong kind of honor will be bestowed by some “get out the honor” movement, until it FIRST has become cognizant of the supreme glory and care of the Lord.

There is no “agree to disagree” here. We are fundamental poles apart.

And I humbly submit that one First Commandment trumps all “helpful votes.”

IIRC, both parties hated Reagan, too. He went directly to the people to connect and be elected. Cruz has a similar character, charisma, and principles. It should be interesting to see how things progress for him.
