Washington Post/ABC Poll: Bush now tops GOP field; Clinton runs ahead of all Republicans

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush now leads the field of Republican candidates for the party’s 2016 presidential nomination, but former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton enjoys a decided advantage over Bush and other potential GOP rivals in hypothetical general election matchups, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

At this early stage in the 2016 competition, the prospective candidates suffer from image weaknesses, but the Republicans have a more acute problem. Most Republicans are not well known, but at this point, not a single one of six Republicans included in the survey has a favorability rating that is net positive.

Bush — by far the best known among those running for the GOP nomination — is viewed favorably by just 33 percent of the public, while 53 percent say they view him unfavorably. Only Clinton among all those included in the poll has a net positive rating, but by the slender margin of three percentage points (49-46 percent). Her favorability rating has dropped nine points in the past year and 18 points since she left the State Department in 2013.

Clinton stands now as the leading contender in either party for the White House, with no serious opposition at this point in the race for the Democratic nomination

It figures. Damn ignorant Democrats don’t know a future addition to the communists control of America. Some Americans are so busy playing that they let the Country down.

All polls are corrupt. Who is going to stop them from writing any number they want to write down?

At this point the people being polled are mostly LIV's that are going strictly by name recognition.

They recognize the names Bush and Clinton. But probably have no clue where the D.C. is on a map.

If they were given a choice of all the candidates and then threw in the name of the latest American Idol participants, they would probably vote for the American Idol-ator.

If this country elects Hillary Clinton as president, then we deserve whatever happens to us. I mean, if we elect this lady then all is lost.

Its official, the liberal MSM, Democrats, Communists, and Socialists want Jeb Bush for the GOP nominee. If that isn't a clear signal of what the oligarchy desires, nothing is.

There is obviously nothing Clinton could do that would reduce her popularity among LIV Demonic-rats. Even if she openly sided with ISIS and beheaded a few children, she’d get this thoroughly evil contingent’s vote.

People need to read the article and poll, not good for Clinton and Bush. High unfavorables.

I see no reason why these aren’t correct. The average joe is answering right now purely on name recognition, and there’s no doubt Clinton and Bush far exceed anyone else running in name recognition. The unfavorable #s for Bush is the best thing in this article. Hopefully one of our good candidates can take advantage so we don’t lose in ‘16 be default.

Is this the same polling outfit that last week found that a serious majority of Americans favored making the nuke deal with Iran? Asking, perhaps, the exact wrong questions?

Polls now mean absolutely nothing. I am pretty sure Mz. Clinton was way ahead of everyone at this stage in ‘07, too,

FL and TX might be enough to put Jebbie on top in a crowded field right now. People there truly believe in Bushes.

It is probably an accurate poll of 1,000 adults. Not registered voters, not likely voters, not likely republican primary voters, but adults. I don’t doubt Clinton leads all contenders anyway. Good thing the general election is in 19 months.
