and climate change," says Jay Famiglietti, the senior water scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

The JPL apparently is no longer needed for aircraft research, and can be shut down with no loss to the country. Give everyone there the standard RIF package.

Yep, I grew up listening to his “one reporters opinion” segment on ktla TV. Then his radio show on kiev 870am.

Another quote from George Putnam :

The fish rots from the head

Re: the drought

Texas started conserving early on; water lawn once a week then once every two weeks.

Slowly, the reservoir levels are coming up...

California would do well to so the same.

Plus build those desalting plants.

These measures won’t be enough. There is only one solution. We need to start culling the herd. Let’s start with EBT card holders.

“...unintended consequences to marine life...from...the discharge [of salty brine from the desalination plant]’ says Marco Gonzalez...”

This objection is funny! The amount of increased salinity in the oceans from desalination is a ‘piss in the ocean’ compared to the increase from normal evaporation that gives us ‘desalinated’ water as rain/snow. The Leftists are absolutely immune to logic or reason, but they do run their mouths.

Forget actually permitting something on the California Coast. Never gonna happen, much less getting a Cal EPA discharge permit. Nope, not gonna do it.

Yea: that’s funny isn’t it.

Imagine putting salt water into the ocean...

The High Speed Rail will be so fast that they will not offer water on the train which should save thousands of gallons of water .... think positively!!!!

Distillation is more expensive than using membrane filtration to remove the salt.

“Geez, we should give California to Israel.”

Or better yet, have the Israelis run California....at least they know what they’re doing.

Thanks for this information --- it's great!

Water is going to become more valuable than oil.

And Israel is already exporting water!!

California may not build desalination plants cause the Environmental-wackos are worried about hurting the fish. Really.
