Things get bad enough....the eco-wackos are going to be shushed up and shooed away.

That’s nice for the Middle East, it doesn’t have anything to do with there though.

Put the brine on trains to Utah, and put it back into salt mines.

The last time I looked, they were still issuing more building permits in California. So, are the planners serious?

This was all I could find about power usage. It was written before the plant was operational, so I don't know if it ended up meeting the specs or not.

The only thing government in California is serious about — is screwing the citizens.

“Geez, we should give California to Israel.”

Too late - it’s already going to Mexico!

"Or better yet, have the Israelis run California....at least they know what they’re doing."

Yeah, that was the underlying idea...

No, let’s build a multi billion dollar train to nowhere instead. There are still some productive taxpayers left in California that have not been driven out yet.

"That’s nice for the Middle East, it doesn’t have anything to do with there though."

A contrast is suggested.

A contrast between what?

The United States is not Israel or Saudi Arabia or Spain, or the United Arab Emirates.

Our states like Texas and Florida, and California use and build desalination at the rate that fits them.

For instance the Santa Barbara plant was only useful for one year after being built in 1991, and now it is useful again, and among other projects is the Carlsbad plant, which will be the largest in the Western Hemisphere when it comes into service next year.

California has a lot of desalination projects in the works.

Let’s quit pretending we’re saving some nominal fish species by letting the precious river water flow unretained into the sea.

imagine if the 10m+ illegals were deported...

it’d reduce water demand to manageable levels

Sounds like it takes a whole lot more power than my calculation.

I guess you can’t just plug it into the 15 amp outlet.

Develop a small desalinization device for home use.....clean sea water as you do any other water....pump clean seawater to your house.....it is up to you to take the salt out of the water that needs to be pure....you can flush with salt water, wash your car with it whatever and purify the water that you drink and cook with....you pay the bill if you wish to water your lawn and nobody cares how much you use...
