Obama endorses Hillary Clinton for president

Hillary Clinton would make a fine US president, Barack Obama said on the eve of the expected launch of her candidacy for the Democratic Party's nod in 2016.

Obama beat Clinton - who is vying to become the first woman president of the United States - for their party's nomination in 2008 after a gruelling campaign. He then won re-election four years later.

'She was a formidable candidate in 2008. She was a great supporter of mine in the general election. She was an outstanding secretary of state. She is my friend,' Obama said at a regional summit in Panama on Saturday.

'I think she would be an excellent president.'Several US media reports, citing sources in Clinton's campaign team, said the 67-year-old was likely to announce her candidacy for the Democratic nomination on Sunday.

The former first lady is expected to be the clear Democratic frontrunner in the race to succeed Obama. The wife of former president Bill Clinton leads opinion polls among Democrats, some 60 per cent of whom say they would vote for her in the primaries, according to the website RealClearPolitics.

Two other potential candidates - Senator Elizabeth Warren and Vice President Joe Biden - have not yet said they intend to run.

On the Republican side, Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have already thrown their hats into the ring, with more candidates likely to follow - including Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida, brother to president George W Bush and son of president George HW Bush.

A series of polls this year have consistently placed Clinton ahead of every one of her potential Republican challengers, although the gap has narrowed in recent weeks.

It’s only fitting. McCain endorsed Obama.

Now that Obama and Hillary have made it clear that they’ve combined forces to drive Hillary’s candidacy forward, no other potential Democratic candidate has a chance against her.

With Obama’s endorsement, he might as well have placed a crown on Hillary’s head in prime time on all three major networks. She is Queen of the Democrats.

This development means that every registered Democratic voter in the country has been pushed out of the democratic process. The Democrats of America will have no more influence over who will lead them than the people of North Korea or Cuba or any other dictatorship.

Will they even care about what is happening? Will they protest even slightly, or will they come out in droves to cheer and bow down to the new monarch that has been placed over them? This will be interesting to watch.

Which appointing her as Secretary of State and endorsing her for president will cause to continue to keep hidden.

"That’s not true. zero was the planned plant, with VJ as handler, since... sometime in the 90s. Or earlier."

I believe what you say is true. My point is that they allowed Hillary to run for a while and then reigned her in.

I thought that was obvious from the Obama/Hillary meeting which was the turning point in that campaign (to say the least!).

Do you believe that can happen again?

You nailed it. Obama’s endorsement of Hillary is the Kiss Of Death. Nobody wants that evil, incompetent old bat to represent US on the world stage for the next four years. Obama is driving the nail into her political coffin with his endorsement. On top of all her own baggage, she’ll bring Bill back into the White House. And everybody knows that he’s a creepy old perv and a national embarrassment.

What he is really saying is: 'I was really up against it running against her. When she knew I had stolen her momentum she did the expedient thing and decided to support me. As Sec of State, she really flubbed up bigtime. Friend? I gotta say that don't I?

He’s quietly been for Warren the whole time. But I guess he thinks this is the best way to keep himself in power.

Lets see if I understand why a snake (Hillery) would want an endorsement from a mouse (Omama)...

Neither of these two toilet turds are worthy of any public office...have we sunk so low that a homeless person is more qualified to be President of the United States than Hussein Obama and Corrupt Clinton the Second......
