65-Year-Old Mom Pregnant With Quadruplets: Amazingly Beautiful Or Extremely Egotistical?
PJ Media ^ | 04-12-2015 | Michael van der Galien

A 65 year old German lady has told German newspaper Bild that she’s expecting quadruplets. This news story is the talk of the day in Europe. There are those who believe it’s a reason to celebrate, while others have a slightly different opinion. See for instance this tweet from a Dutch Twitter-user:

Translation:

“A women of 65 years old pregnant with quadruplets. This is loathsome. Incredibly egotistical.”

Her argument is that the mother is a) too old to take care of one new baby let alone four, and b) that she’s basically nearing the end of her life thereby making it very likely that her children will lose their mother at a very young age.

As far as I’m concerned, this is nothing to be ashamed of, let alone to find “loathsome.” People are healthier than ever before and become older because of it. If this German lady wants to have seventeen kids, why shouldn’t she? She could live on for another 30 or even 40 years. Should she, then, be deprived of family bliss just because some folks consider her to be “too old?” What nonsense.

Thank you. I appreciate that very much.

For the record, I think you are a fantastic mother, regardless of age, or when you had/have them, or any of that.

Info comes from the island of of Malta, where the Royal Air Force had to build a maternity hospital because so many of the wives were getting pregnant.

Research showed that goats' milk was the cause (although the husbands did get an honorable mention ! )

There are no cows on Malta.

At age 46, my mother had a 3rd child. Dad was 50. Back in 1965 this wasn’t that common - (except maybe in Hollywood).
They were done having babies in 1939! No more diapers, or nursing/bottles - - -
(I was born when Mom was 17).

In 1965, we had 3 children of our own, my brother had 2.
We called our sister the ‘oops!’ baby.
We think conception was St. Patrick’s Day - - - : ^ ]

When we had our 3rd baby in New Mexico, we called back ‘home’ to NY and my mother said, ‘oh you have another girl - that’s nice. I don’t feel so good - - ‘

Turns out her regular MD could find nothing ‘wrong’ with her ‘complaints,’ and told my father to take her to a psychiatrist!
Seven months later she had a baby girl!
To say the least, my parents could have strangled the MD - telling Dad to take Mom to a psychiatrist - - -

We think it was best the baby was a girl - a boy could have been rough - physically challenging. Whatever.

When our mom died, my late-in-life sister was already 29 - dad died 5 years later. This was quite fortunate - that my sister was 29, & not younger.
Now this sister has a late-in-life son! And so it goes.
Almost everyone has a story about late-in-life parents in their families somewhere.

Cow’s milk is for calves - - goat’s milk is a good alternative.
Would be even better if you can get organic. And not pasteurized.

Thanks.

I think it comes down to whether a person thinks it’s worth being himself, whatever his experiences are, compared to not existing. Those are the only real possibilities.

No, not really. It was because my testicles kept getting in the way of my starting my menstral cycle.
