Jonathan Karl: Hillary Clinton’s Popularity Has Taken a ‘Beating’

While examining Hillary Clinton‘s poll numbers ahead of her expected presidential announcement later Sunday, ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl said the numbers show that Clinton has taken a “beating” since since left her job as Secretary of State.

A new Bloomberg poll shows that 72 percent of Democrats and Independents want Clinton to face a serious challenger during the Democratic primary. But, as Karl noted, that is unlikely as Clinton is “the biggest non-incumbent frontrunner we have ever seen.”

But her popularity, Karl said, “has taken a beating” since she left the State Department — now at 49 percent from a high of 67 percent.

“The biggest factor driving her popularity down is the issue of honesty and trustworthiness,” Karl told George Stephanopoulos on This Week. “Clearly, Benghazi and that email scandal have taken a toll.”

Sarah Palin is a remarkable woman who, if she were liberal, would be celebrated as the personification of the ideal woman who has it all.

Sarah Palin has it all, according to liberal feminist criteria. She rose up to the very top ranks of her chosen profession. She did it on her own, not due to who she was married to. She has had a happy marriage and a fulfilling family life. She has it all according to what feminism tells women.

And she has had it all, without having to sacrifice anything in life. This is what feminists say they aspire to. Sarah Palin has had the fulfilling professional career, the happy marriage, and the good family life.

But, when she became a VP candidate, all the feminist criteria went out the window, because Sarah Palin had the audacity to be “conservative”. This is a shortcoming which cannot be overcome, according to liberal criteria.

Similar to how Clarence Thomas is said to not really be black, then Sarah Palin had to be demonized as one who is not really a woman.
