WIBC-FM 93.1 is pulling the plug on "The Rush Limbaugh Show," a vastly popular program with conservative talk-radio fans and one of the most listened to in this market since it began airing on the station 22 years ago.

Heh
Someone else will pick up Rush’s show...
It’s a free country - radio stations like WIBC have the right to make bad choices... maybe the station’s so wealthy they can afford to become ‘Air American’... who know? Who cares?
And the sponsors are going to disappear because they'll be losing money. No one wants to hear the lefts whiny, hateful, decadent crap.
“Dave Ramsey is the best cure for insomnia I know of”
Disagree. It’s a great show for counting your blessings.
“Dave, I have $122k in student debt and I never finished my degree. Now they want me to pay them back and I can’t do it. “.
Isn’t Rush going to Cirus or however it’s spelled?
Listeners? We don't need no stinking listeners.
Oh it’s a great show for advice and listening to the troubles others have made for themselves, but his monotonous voice puts me to sleep.....................
Must need a tax write off to pay for Obamacare.................
And they are doing this just 1 - 1/2 years before a huge presidential election?? Talk about being real short sighted. The ratings should be very good through November of ‘16 if they keep Rush.
Emmis are run by liberals. Expect their ratings to be much much lower compared to if they kept Rush.
WIBC’s loss and another station’s gain.
Such a decision is another station’s gold mine.
Soon to be known as Emesis Communications.
Glad to hear that I am not the only one who thinks Dave Ramsey is boring, he really does not fit in with the rest of that station's programming. That being said, I am not sure a little local station like Freedom 95 could afford Rush, but I hope so. I listen to Laura Ingraham there mornings.
Yep!
No, you’ve got it all wrong... LOL
(no... you don’t)
Leftist think it’s all about propaganda
Rush was moved off the super-station her in LA, and quite frankly, I can’t hear his show many times in the car or at home.
I am a subscriber to his show, but the upshot is that hundreds of millions of Americans will not run into him on the radio dial, hear some sense, and tune in regularly.
He’s been bumped from super-stations across the nation.
KFI could be heard from almost up to Santa Barbara a good way down to San Diego and inland to Riverside, San Bernadino. The sister staion can’t be heard in parts of Los Angeles proper.
radio stations that push Left... Push up daisies....
The MSM and other lefties love to trumpet these “local station dumps conservative talk show” stories. But almost invariably the talk show finds a new home (or, in some instances, found a new home PREVIOUSLY, and the old station merely spins this by saying “you can’t quit, we’re firing you”).
(In fairness to this particular story, they DO include this bit midway through: ’We look forward to announcing a new home for “The Rush Limbaugh Show” in Indianapolis soon,’ said Rachel Nelson, director of public relations for Premiere.”)
In L.A., for example, Rush and Hannity moved last year from KFI over to another station. My sense is that KFI, which replaced Rush/ Hannity with local-only chat shows, was simply hoping to spend only 10% of the Rush/Hannity money while retaining 15% of the ad revenue.
Bottom line: Rush isn’t going anywhere.
Hrm.
I really like Loesch, and I do think she’ll appeal to younger conservatives. And I’m sure that her show is less expensive than Rush’s. Still, Rush is the king of talk radio, and he is likely to stay the king, even though the format (i.e. conventional radio) seems to be in decline. Surely another station in Indy will pick him up.
As for WIBC itself...I’m not in Indiana, so I don’t know a whole lot about the lineup. I have listened to it a time or two on my computer. I caught a local show called “Chicks on the Right” a while back. It’s okay, though I really only can take that in small doses. I’ve also heard bits and pieces of their late-night “mashup” clip show.
