A $1200 AK bought out of state might well be worth that $2k credit. If you turn in a hundred of them do you get $200k credit?
No cash. Just a tax credit. That sure makes it more inviting huh?
Lake Titty Cahca
LOL you can by an AK-47 knock off for less than have that cost. Looks like an opportunity to make some money to me.
Buy 50 one day and turn them in the next and make over 50K.
That looks like the list from the California ban.
If you have a large tax bill that credit is the same as cash.
Are they 200 now? I got mine for 99.95 about 6 years ago.
Remember, DeLaurao is on record saying her goal is the elimination of privately owned firearms. Complete confiscation. She didnt try to hide it, to the contrary, she was quite proud of it.
Please understand, it's not that I disbelieve you on that, but would you be able to furnish a link to where she said that?
I'd like to add it to may collection of those on the nation's socialist left talking confiscation for whenever a leftist trots out the old line ‘ No one is talking confiscation’.
It's great to respond with all the instances where they've talked confiscation - including Mario ‘Confiscation’ Cuomo.
Wow. You’ll never be able to recover them...
We don't visit often, enough said...

Well, let’s see...I’ve hunted with Mosin Nagant, and an SKS (Designed for the battlefield) many a person hunts with a 1903, or a Garand (Designed for the battlefield) and my brother hunts with a Springfield 1863 replica (Designed for the battlefield).
Hey! Look! Battlefield weapons that are used for something OTHER than what the old biddy claims
OMG!!! A tax credit!!!
How in the world will the government ever pay for it?
She’s going to give a $2000 tax credit on a Bushmaster XM-15 I see listed on GunBroker for $850? Am I reading this right?
Tax credit. You WILL GET NO CASH!
Sure. But it’s still two grand I wouldn’t have to pay the government. Might be a nice way to cover my income tax and still have enough left over for, oh, I dunno, maybe a new Bushmaster...
“Tax credit. You WILL GET NO CASH!”
If you owe $1,000 or more for two years, it is like cash to pay those taxes.
If you do not owe $1,000 taxes, it is not worth as much
I’m sorry to make that comment ambiguous. I didn’t mean it that you were stupid. I meant it that the legislator was kind of stupid to propose such a bill.
However, though I am not a citizen of CT, what they tolerate there may effectively affect me, when their behavior is exported. I live in a state that is almost criminally corrupted in its politics (IMHO), and they could use some dumb thing like this as an example.
No, they are not giving anyone $2000. They are giving a tax deduction on state taxable income of $1000 per year for two years, which is maybe $50 net in taxes paid each year for 2 years. Read the bill.
Ah, I get it now, and thanks for clarifying. That 1000 isn’t actually the tax paid, but a deduction from the base on which the tax is calculated. (Slapping forehead) There goes my plan to populate my basement with rifles.
Well, I mean, populate it more than it already is...
