A marine helicopter made an unexpected landing near a beach in north San Diego Wednesday, officials confirmed.
San Diego lifeguards said a CH-53 Super Stallion marine helicopter landed near Del Mar Shores Beach south of Fletcher Cove at around 11:40 a.m.
Firefighters were called to the scene to investigate the chopper for a possible fuel leak.
No injuries were reported.

This was the helicopter that was supposed to land at the White House today and that toy helicopter that landed on the White House lawn should have landed out here on the beach. Software bug, Neo is on the mend.
I see them going up and down the beach from Camp Pendleton.

CH-53's are ALWAYS leaking something! Maybe they were dumping fuel intentionally. Who knows. Nice landing spot, though. I'm happy that all are safe.

I remember years back hopping rides in the CH-43’s and “liquid” dripping here and there (not much) and yelling towards the Chief; his response? “That’s good! It means we still have some”.
