Ted Cruz: Cancel Iran deal and move embassy to Jerusalem
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/25/2015 | Drucker

Sen. Ted Cruz promises a bold shift in U.S. foreign policy if he's elected president that would cancel President Obama's arms deal with Iran and move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

On the eve of remarks to the Republican Jewish Coalition, the White House contender laid out bullet points for his approach to the Middle East in an interview with the Washington Examiner that would sharply rebuke Obama's eight years. Cruz's call to get tough with enemies of the United States, especially Tehran, and prioritize relationships with key allies like Israel should go over well with the 800 coalition members gathered in Sin City for the group's annual spring meeting.

"The most pressing national security concern for the next president in January 2017 is going to be to deal with an Iran that will likely be on the cusp of acquiring nuclear weapons because this deal that the president has negotiated will in my opinion only accelerate Iran's move toward nuclear weapons," Cruz said Friday afternoon during a 20 minute discussion in the lobby of the Mandarin Oriental hotel, just off the Las Vegas strip...

Cruz said the U.S. would not be bound under his presidency to the accord Obama and world powers are negotiating with Iran, if it fails to win approval in Congress. Asked directly if he would cancel it or pull the U.S. out of this framework, Cruz responded flatly: "Yes." (snip)

Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been engaging in open rhetorical warfare with each other To send an unambiguous signal of the U.S. reaffirming its historic relationship with Israel and priority of the Jewish state as a key ally in the Middle East, Cruz said he would immediately order the American embassy moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,

Israel and her concerns rates just below used food in the minds of American Jewish voters. IOW, don’t expect much bang for that buck.

He will effectively increase his percentage of Jewish votes. But they aren't the real target of his statement. It's Evangelicals, and anyone else remotely interested in American national security. It's a lot of people. I think there's a magnum's worth of powder in that buck. What I like best is that what he's suggesting is the right thing to do.

“I will write in Ted Cruz,
and will not vote for anyone
else in the accursed GOP.”

I agree. Cruz is the ONLY candidate who is consistent and unafraid. I’ll write him in before voting for anyone else.

Move the embassy to Jerusalem?

In the distance, you hear the popping sound of liberal heads exploding.

Very entertaining.

I doubt the target was evangelicals. He was speaking to a Jewish group. Most likely, he just wants their funding.

Jewish groups have heard this since 1995, from every *candidate* for president except Obama. Once they become President, they change their tune. It is probably only Christian groups that would be impressed.

Ted Cruz deserves a contribution simply for returning the simple declarative sentence to political discourse to express the truth. Otherwise, all we’ve had is either Big Lies in our faces or mumbling, evasion, and banalities from decades of corrupt politicians.

How many years has it been since the phrase ‘’he responded flatly: ‘Yes’’’ was written by a political reporter, as it was today regarding Ted Cruz, to characterize a politician’s answer to even the most simple question?

No matter who wins the presidency, there’s hope that for once we can have an intelligent, articulate debate about serious issues during a presidential race, at least in the Republican party during the primaries, and in the general election if Ted Cruz wins the nomination.

1. cancel Obamacare boondockle.
2. More funds to Military.
3. cancel the Corrupt IRS.
4. Blocade Iran—No more oil or food in or out.
5. Build a wall between mexico and USA—guard it with troops of a new military section—The Border Guard—Like Coast Guard on Land—with tanks, Warthogs, and armored cars.
6. Build up the Navy!
7. Move the embassy to Jerusalem!

“Jewish groups have heard this since 1995...”

I remember how excited I got when President W Bush said
he would move the embassy during his campaign. (sigh)

I think at this point the only question is whether it is Cruz/Walker or Walker/Cruz. Paul can light up a joint and watch it all from Lexington, Louisville, Bowling Green or where ever.

Cruz is not Bush. Cruz has strong principles and the strength of character to actually get this done. But, you're right, we've been fooled before. I may be proven wrong, but Cruz seems to be a different kind of candidate, one whose words can actually be trusted.
