According to Fox 5 in DC, fans at tonight's Baltimore Orioles were asked by the City's Mayor via message board to remain inside the ballpark due to an ongoing safety concerns as protestors remain in the streets from earlier protest.
My guess is someone (or a government group) is ‘sweetening’ the pot by offsetting costs - making it cheaper to build the stadium IF it's built in a crime ridden black neighborhood.
Who wins?
The usual vile suspects win - - unions, Team owners (they don't care who shows up because the big money is made selling broadcast rights), black self-appointed ‘leaders’ (ever wonder why there are no self-appointed leaders of other races?? I know...), and white liberal elites.
The people who lose are blacks who live in that community (extra traffic, noise, trash on the streets - with no offsetting benefits - really - how many lower class families can spend $300 for a night out with the kids?). Also middle class people of all races lose - people who might want to attend stadium events - - but are afraid of venturing into black inner city hellholes... and yeah - that includes black middle class families.
Pretty easy to find out who pays the rent then charge them with insurrection.
All this Baltimore talk has me wanting some Natty Boh.
You’re right trailerpark badass - that’s liberal elite ‘logic’... to revitalize inner city crime ridden neighborhoods with stadiums. That ‘solution’ works in the make-believe world of the clueless white liberal elite.
The world where ‘intentions’ trump reality.
Why build stadiums in inner city black hellholes? What’s the logic?
If the land is cheap - but half the people who might attend stay home out of fear - it’s a bad economic choice.

That’s why the Atlanta Braves risked the “loss of prestige” (lol) of not having an intown stadium to build one out closer to the northern suburbs, where the bulk of their fan base resides. They weren’t subject to the multi-tens of millions of dollars shakedown from the black “leadership,” and their fans could enjoy a game experience other than getting in their cars and leaving as fast as possible.
You're saying there are still teams that care about their fans? I'm speechless....
I think they care about their fans’ money, lol.
Who knew they would have beer and baseballs at the FEMA camp?
The kid is deep into his windup and his body line occludes the line of sight of his intended victim. Plus the intended recipient of said haymaker is squinting or has his eyes shut. And he has thrown a powerless punch way off a proper body line an di's wide open. My daughter could flatten him.
Hey Mabel, how about another Black Label?
Which is not, as you may well know, not made in B’more anymore.
I’ve been ticked since the last Maryland Rye Whisky stopped being made in ‘73.
Never fear, Maryland rye is coming back:

(My dear departed dad used to drink Pikesville rye.)
What is your impression, outside agitators or no?
Nope the local media has it right 65% of those arrested are resident and teenage punks looking to start some trouble. They knew the directors of the riots were coming to Baltimore as soon as the march made national news, just as with Ferguson and New York. The screen shots of the protester’s signs will tell you, who, what, when, where and how!
Cool!
Just checked the article... it gets better. The distillery is in St. Michaels, and my Mom and family live in Easton.
That’s great. The husband and I have visited the microbrewery in St. Michael’s. (We live near Chestertown.)
