Moments ago according to the native Twitter feed of Arabiya, Iranian forces have seized a US cargo ship, which has some 34 American sailors, which they have taken to the port of Bandar Abbas.

The last port of call was Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. That may be the bigger issue.

But I would guess their last port of call in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia was a motivating reason to stop it.
I agree with Fred Thomson’s thoughts on this matter.
If our president had any balls he would order all 5 ships disabled”shot to the stern” with a warning that any retaliation would result in their annihilation.
