That is quite the rap sheet. Here are some things that you should know about Freddy Gray.
Heavy Freddie Gray, who died a week after suffering injuries while in Baltimore police custody, had a lengthy criminal record, mainly for drug-related offenses, according to state court records. Police claim he was involved in criminal activity, prior to his arrest.
Gray, 25, died after spending seven days in a coma as a result of injuries he suffered while in the custody of city police, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Gray had a lengthy arrest record with convictions dating back until at least 2007, according to the Maryland Department of Justice. Not all of the arrests led to convictions, in many of the cases he pleaded guilty to one charge while the others were dropped. Details of when he spent time in prison were not immediately available. His arrest record includes at least 18 arrests: March 20, 2015: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

That is one of the beefs of the protesters. They have a description of what happened (read between the lines and it sounded like they took him on a ride- put him in the back of the van, cuffed, but not strapped in, so when they flew around curves he was a BB in a bottle), and a concession that they did not get him medical treatment once they saw he was hurt, but no one can say why he was picked up. Likely smarted off to the wrong guy with a gun, badge, and time on his hands.
Well, he’s just an excitable boy
This is one of the fundamental differences between the American White and the African-American culture. American Whites at least make an effort to reform or incarcerate their criminals. The African-American culture makes heroes out of all theirs.
They never seem to riot when an actual innocent is killed in a drive-by
But to be honest, I don’t think 90 percent of the protesters even know what Freddy Gray is. They are out to burn, loot, steal and raise hell for the sake of doing so.
He still deserved due process under our laws.
He was arrested without incident. That is how the police reported it. He had a knife on him. And no drugs.
The police, according to witnesses, bent his legs behind his back, nor did they report he resisted arrest. This idea that he was harmed from the seat belts has been put out by the police union.
Baltimore Officials Promise Investigation Into Death of Man After His Arrest
6 Baltimore police officers suspended amid investigation of suspect's fatal spine injury
And that justified severing his spine how?
LOL!
You left out the part about him turning his life around. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
either way cops driving around like a-holes with a prisoner hand cuffed and not in a seat restraint and bouncing him around and finally causing his death is reasons for criminal manslaughter charges..
Burning down a city is not the answer to this problem and MSNBC,CNN and all the rest can make up all the excuses they want but it don’t cut it...there is NO reason for the negros to be going “ape $hit”
Sorry, but that rap sheet is not ‘bad’ at all. I see two 2nd-assaults, one burglary, and one destruction of property. The two trespassing can be either way. Often just extra charges the city has to get someone with something when they don’t have any real crimes to pin on them.
Granted, those are the only times he got caught, but the rest of that is just marijuana/drug charges. Not to fully defend him, but a whole bunch of bogus charges turning him into a lifetime criminal isn’t something that should be coloring his recent issues. And like several people have said, we’re not even sure why he was picked up in the first place.
“What in the world does his rap sheet have to do with the circumstances of his death in police custody? I dont think theres any dispute over whether he shouldve been arrested.”
The judge seems to have inside information. Or maybe just two sides to his mouth. “no lawful reason”????? That’s the kind of comment that fuels this mess.
Let me guess - he was getting ready to turn his life around...and his mother says everyone liked him... a ‘good’ boy...
Right.
He was just turning his life around, and planning to attend college. /s
Just’a good ol’ boy
Never meanin’ no harm.
Looks a bit more like Hiroshima.
(I definitely don't remember seeing a mountain range near "Balmer.")
Neither police nor witnesses have claimed he violently resisted, simply that he ran. There is video of Gray being arrested. His bicycle looks like it crashed into a small brick wall and his legs appear limp when the police drag him into the paddy wagon. He was thrown into the wagon cuffed but otherwise unrestrained. Then the cops, who have a documented history of driving in a manner intended to cause pain for unrestrained prisoners, did just that making a two stops along the way to “deal with” the prisoner. What “deal with” means we don’t know because the cops aren’t saying any more than that. At a third stop to add another prisoner Gray was laying on the floor complaining of difficulty breathing. All this the police department has admitted to.
Gray’s initial injury may have been due to a bicycle crash but the cops did what they thought they could get away with to harm him once he was in their custody.
According to the police report of his arrest, he was arrested "without force or incident."
