Baltimore crowds celebrate tough charges against police Last

Baltimore: Residents of impoverished West Baltimore erupted in jubilation and relief Friday after authorities charged six officers in the death in custody of a young African American man.

Many had been parading through riot-scarred neighborhoods and chanting the victim`s name as security forces nervously looked on.

"Baltimore people, we did it!" shouted 18-year-old John Johnson. "Justice needs to be served!"

Cars streamed down West North Avenue in a cacophony of horns, as a man wearing a t-shirt that read "I Bleed Baltimore" thrust his fists into the air and cheered.

The community has been on edge since this week`s violent riots left several buildings in flames, stores looted, more than a dozen police officers injured and dozens of people arrested.

But residents into the streets to vent their relief at the beginning of a judicial process that could see accountability for the death of Freddie Gray in police custody.

"This is long overdue," Dexter Dillard, 47, told AFP at the corner of West North and Pennsylvania avenues, where a large pharmacy was looted and burned Monday in the worst rioting in Baltimore since the late 1960s.

Suddenly, those loud cries dating way way back to last night demanding release of the evidence have quieted down a bit. Gee, wonder why that is?

Wonder if that is part of the plan?

The timing would be right. 8 months to a year from now.

Arrest-Related Deaths (ARD)

Of all reported deaths during the process of arrest

Arrest-Related Deaths, 2003-2009 - Statistical Tables Select PDF (1M). See TABLE 3, Number of reported arrest-related deaths, by demographic characteristics, 2003-2009 on Page 4.

Does Baltimore mean that from now on all police officers in the area are guilty? Not all ARD are homicides but a number of them are.

Who knows? Is it an attempt to quell the crowds? Is it just a foolish response move by an emotional prosecuting attorney?

This is an overwhelming BLACK DEMOCRATICALLY controlled "hell hole" called Baltimore about to kick itself in the a$$, and through that fool's action, claim another victory against "WHITEY."

This link may offer a clue as to the perceptive mentality emerging within America.

Small Businesses Feel Aftershocks of Baltimore Riots
Apr 30, 2015 by Ed Lieber In Economy

Baltimore businesses are dealing with riots, looting and violence — as well as a citywide curfew imposed on April 28 — following civil unrest stemming from the suspicious death of a 25-year-old black man while in police custody.

Because of the curfew, enforced within the city between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., restaurants and other businesses need to close earlier than usual. In addition, some business owners have chosen to temporarily close down — either as a precautionary measure or in response to vandalism — until the curfew’s end, slated for this coming Monday.

“There’s a huge police and National Guard presence,” Steve Diamond, president of Synergy HomeCare, a franchise that provides in-home care for the elderly, told Small Business Trends.

He noted that some restaurants and other small businesses within the city are hurting from the curfew. Exponentially increasing the damage is the timing: now is when Baltimore blooms from its annual tourist infusion.

“This is the time of year when folks arrive and walk around the harbor,” he said. “Now, who knows what will happen. They’re keeping the National Guard here.”

I would expect, unfortunately, that if they are acquitted, that it would set the stage for more riots.

Amen. In fact, the LA Rodney King riots, which claimed sixty lives, occurred not after King was roughed up by the cops, but instead after the officers charged with abuse were acquited.

“O’Reilly noted that Baltimore brings in approximately $138 million each year by hosting conventions and meetings. But now, due to the unrest, conventions are being canceled and the city is losing money, he said. O’Reilly also cited the Baltimore Orioles, who played in front of an empty stadium on Wednesday because fans were banned from attending. The team has rescheduled this weekend’s games to Florida, costing Baltimore more money.”

There are a few hot spots...

In 2009, Mumbai was named as one of the world’s “Alpha Cities” – and for good reason. It’s considered to be the technical hub of India due to the fact that it houses premier scientific and nuclear institutes. Mumbai is also one of the largest cities in the world in terms of population and it’s responsible for 70% of capital transactions of the nation’s economy. Mumbai comes in at 6 of the top 10 global cities on the billionaire count; a total of 26 billionaires call Mumbai home.

There are a lot of fancy restaurants and sports-oriented pubs downtown on the Baltimore Inner Harbor that will suffer immensely. They do get a daily lunch trade during the workweek but with conventions absent and family tourism undoubtedly down, they will suffer, especially nights and weekends. In addition, the loss of 50,000 for an evening of baseball means a ton lost for parking fees, meals and even hotels for out of town fans.
