LAS VEGAS (AP) Hillary Rodham Clinton intends to draw an early distinction with Republicans on illegal immigration, pointing to a pathway to citizenship as an essential part of any overhaul in Congress.
Clinton was laying the foundation of her immigration agenda Tuesday in her first stop in Nevada since launching her presidential campaign. After years of delays in Congress, Latinos and immigration activists are watching Clinton's statements closely for signs of how she might break a legislative logjam on immigration and whether she would extend President Barack Obama's executive actions to shield millions of immigrants from deportation.
"We hope that she leans in and really issues a challenge on the issue," said Clarissa Martínez-De-Castro, deputy vice president of the National Council of La Raza.
Clinton, a Democrat, has backed Obama's unsuccessful pitch for a comprehensive immigration overhaul, including a pathway to citizenship for immigrants in the country illegally, and supported his announcement last year halting deportations of certain immigrants.

Mmm, churros. I haven’t had breakfast yet.
How is putting ILLEGALS in front or even with those LEGAL immigrants equal & fair?
Mmmmm....sure hope Hillary doesn’t get throat burn from all that sucking up.
Them habaneros in the hot sauce can be murder.
Come one and all to the easiest to get into, mean nothing Country in the world! Free! Want free housing? Come on in! Free food and clothes? Come on in! Free phone? Come on in! Why pay, when you can have free? Come on in!!!!!!!!!
So. Jeb beat her to that.
Their only possible path to resurrection is a resounding "Not no, but Hell No!" to Hillary!'s proposal from all Republican presidential aspirants. Anything short of that will ensure a replay of 2012 when a large portion of the base stayed home.
Not like that here in Georgia. They require a picture ID - some kind of government ID. DLs here (new ones) have to have a whole assortment of back up documentation to get now.
When will she advocate for citizens and taxpayers?
She’s throwing hail Mary passes now because she is scared to death of a threat from her Left. Like she had to deal with in 2008.
Thats all this is: get out Left early, lock in support from La Raza and other Hispanic interest groups before someone like Malloy can.
Further, if she does get the nomination she’ll tack back to center, with a wink and a nod to the Hispanic groups that she still supports this policy, but cant win the election on it. She’ll have their blessing, and will have the MSM flying top cover when she does it.
Clinton:
Cross my palm with silver.
Your post #27: Of course that’s as it should be. I know IDs are still required but most don’t prove citizenship. The Demonrats resist proof of citizenship for reasons that are all too obvious.
The silver lining is the more radical her amnesty proposal, the less likely she is to win. I don’t believe the polls show much support for mass amnesty.
“However, that DOES presume that the eventual (R) candidate doesnt jump on board the same train.”
cough - Jeb Bush- cough
Exactly. There's very little distinction between the policy stances of Jeb Bush and Hillary.
If Jeb is the GOP nominee, I WILL be voting indie in 2016.
"I'm simply going to do one of those....uh....you know.....uh....Executive Order things.
in conjunction with massive vote count fraud complicit with the MSM. DC corruption rules the day.
Yep, distill it down and that’s exactly what the Marxists (Democrats) want.
