A two-star general resigned his command in San Antonio last week after making a racially-charged comment during a lower-ranking officer's disciplinary hearing, the Air Force said Monday.
Maj. Gen. Michael Keltz, then commander of the 19th Air Force at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, told an accused officer that he appeared drunker than 10,000 Indians in a photo of him and another airman. The Air Force confirmed that Keltz made the remark, which initially was reported in a blog.

Oh, nooooooo!
The general said a no-no, so let’s fire him and lose his experienced service forever.
America continues its childish, downward PC spiral.
It’s a fact most American Indians genetically lack an enzyme that metabolizes alcohol. Ergo, they get drunk rapidly and for a longer period of time.
Had an Indian sailor/alcoholic on my last ship. He had been just about permanently restricted aboard because of his drinking, but he managed to have liquor smuggled to him. And it’s true, he would go on the warpath, racing & whooping around the decks. Sad, but true.
People of color are offended by the slightest things white people say today.
For instance, if the General had said "Drunker than 10,000 Irishmen," no one would have been offended.
Our friends and foes are watching the U.S. Military deteriorate.
Spit.
General McPeak. .....Did you know him? Personally? Great man.
I tend to keep the two races distinct... One “Indian” smells like curry powder. The other “Indian” is a drunken bloodthirsty savage that scalps the men and rapes the women.
Or hornier than 10,000 Italians!
Great point
Great point and that is because millions of them have grown up playing the victim where as we were and am told to get on with it.
Remember when it was sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?
I teach those to my kids today, shame others can’t tell their kids to get in the real world and stop being a victim all the time.
There are no more private conversations and no private correspondence anymore. Everything said is now grist for somebody's mill. "To disagree with" now means "to be offended by". Offending someone is now the sin which can never be forgiven. This man is a bit to old too have come up in that environment. But the younger generation understands it. Imagine a world where everyone talks endlessly without ever saying anything, the way politicians do now. It's about 10 years away.
10,000 Bangalore Dwellers too
Knock it off, mick hater!
drunker than 10,000 Kennedys.
Cigar store.
The horror! Damn I remember when our military leadership wasn’t controlled by a bunch of pansies with their panties in twist when anything other than Christianity was offended. We need people leading that are warriors not..........community organisers.
Makes one wonder. As of 2013: Obama Purging the Military 197 Officers in 5 Years
No...Not personally, (Though the earliest personal encounter was a bit, shall we say, less than sour)and yes, he did many a great thing. He and the commander of TAC (at the time before ACC) did a lot to force develop, but make no mistake, they were the beginning of the one-mistake Air Force that I came to know. I will admit he is not the sole owner of it and my words ought to have reflected that, but I remain...since that time the USAF has gone downward on many such things. It is a branch where there ought to be a share-point, Mil-Connect mass education program on how to walk on Pins and needles. The active Duty is a rough place to be anymore.
So, more to your point, I do not lay it all on him (McPeak) but as far as I can see in my now 27th year, it had its genesis there. Now, keep in mind a lot of our flag officers must deal with their political masters, but in this vein it has only become worse there as well.
What would be acceptable? "Drunker than Chelsea Clinton"? "Drunker than the Big Three at Yalta"? "Drunker than college students on spring break in Florida"?
