Repeated demonization can inspire violence.

Courts sided with American icons like Dr. King, Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks, not because they advocated unpopular ideas of hatred or destruction — but because they faced ongoing hatred and destruction at the hands of racist white southerners. As the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League, and leading Jewish American Rabbis note, Geller represents the antithesis of the moral courage that was Rosa Parks....

Pam Geller did this to prove a point.....Free Speech is under attack. The whole point of having the 1st amendment, is not for when people agree with you, but for when people DON’T agree with you.
That said, where was the outrage over the Piss Christ artwork? Or the many who have mocked the Cross with their artwork? Or over the play about Mormons (The Book of Mormon)? No one made a huge deal over those insults to people’s religions...but when it’s Muslims, it’s ok to go off the deep end and shut people up over it?
Just because these people threaten violence and attacks over what is being said, to back down and not say them, is letting them have their way. It’s giving the bully what he’s demanding, and forfeiting the right to FREE SPEECH. It’s also allowing terrorist to have it’s way, when you don’t stand up to it.
None of this kind of controversy pre 60s?

Right. Well, he should know. Does continued demonization include the cry, “Down with the great satan”? Sticks and stones....
