Since we’re having high priced policies sold in the marketplace, then the issue is actually buying and paying for them.

It strikes me that the policies can continue being bought and sold. This congressman wants to implement tax credits to pay for the shortfall in people’s income rather than have direct government subsidies going to the purchase. He wants the people to have the money in hand that goes to the companies.

I want them to buy their own car insurance, too. In the long run that’s the best way to do it. I just don’t get subsidies in the form of tax credits to pay for my car insurance.

But, I see no reason for there to be a gap in time between coverage. Last year it was your cash plus fed subsidy that paid thru the fed. This year it will be your cash plus fed tax credit that pays thru your bank account.

Obamacare isn't about health....it was about looking at your bank accounts and assets....nothing more than data collecting.

On its face, it's a total failure. People were going to clinics and emergency rooms and they're STILL doing the same damn thing.

IIRC, the Federal government collects a piece of EVERY premium.

” Did Jesus physically heal people for nothing?”

Yes He did. But he is God and all he had to do was think the thought and the person was healed.

Doctors and nurses spend thousands and thousands to get their degrees. It costs money to build and run doctors offices, hospitals, pharmacies and the companies that make medical equipment. research and develop drugs, etc.

ObamaCare is all about destroying freedom, destroying capitalism and ushering in a totalitarian system of collective government.

please someone give us a list of any republican senators supposedly wanting to “temporarily” keep these subsidies, so at the very least we can contact them and explain to them that they are off the reservation, and at the maximum, we can make sure we primary them in the next election. However, at some point we are going to have to change the conversation from politics to governing policies. The new market base simple health care reform bill has already been written, watch for it in the next couple of months. You might even get link on this website

And that after their amazing tax increases accompanying their program.

America would be far better off if this were returned to sanity and every policy sold to individuals the way car insurance is. I don’t think I’ll see that in my lifetime.

So, given that the government or employer is going to be involved in most of America’s health care, what is the best way to run it?

I’d just return it to what it was before ObamaCare. Let me keep my own doctor, hospital, and policy.

“On Wednesday, he reintroduced his Empowering Patients First Act”

How about the “Let’s Get Rid of this POS Law Act”.

I had excellent coverage until I was kicked off of my husband's policy.

There was no way in hell we could afford to dish out $560 a month for health care coverage. Yes, I get a subsidy which leaves me with an out of pocket $24.00 a month for my premium. I am sure I am not the only person of FR receiving a subsidy.

I have a Bronze plan with a $6000 deductible. I am healthy and chose the plan offering the best prescription coverage. I rarely see a doctor for illness but I am on 2 meds which combined would cost $600 a month cash. I pay 25.00 a month for each and there is no deductible for meds.

Through no fault of my own I am in a situation in which I will be royally screwed if SCOTUS rules the subsidies illegal.

I want Obamacare to fail. I am all for SCOTUS to rule against the subsidies. But Tom Price is wrong on this one. There needs to be something in place to help those of us forced onto the marketplace from losing coverage altogether while Congress gets its act together. Like that will ever happen. I am not suggesting endless subsidy extensions. I am suggesting an extension until something is in place.

The GOP should have a plan ready to roll should SCOTUS rule against the subsidies. If they do not, they deserve the blame.

BTW-my humble opinion is both Pelosi and Boehner are in on this one. He probably had an “Oh crap, what if SCOTUS throws the subsidies out” moment. Boehner does not want to deal with health care anymore than he wanted to deal with the executive order regarding illegal immigration.

Nancy is playing the bad guy saying what Boehner does not want to say, does not dare say. Wonder what he had to promise in return?

I do believe the ONLY “alternative” to Obamacare is to get Government the Hell out of health care entirely, and the fastest way forward to everyone having the healthcare plan they need is for private enterprise to be free to provide what it is the people want.

Private enterprise....fast, efficient, effective.

Well, Jim. The SC ignored the people. Now the senate can ignore the SC.

I’m still trying to figure out the question “Did Jesus heal people for nothing?” Does the Bible say He got paid and I missed that part?

The problem with your arguments is that you take a blanket approach to keep an unconstitutional program in effect.

There are other ways to help out those who actually have critical issues. Our son had (may be in remission) cancer and when his insurance timed out due to leaving his job, the hospital actually paid for his Obama Care premiums (being broke/disabled/jobless didn't qualify him for his subsidies in MS) because the relatively small payment garnered them substantial insurance payments for his care (they aren't allowed to turn away someone w/o the means).

Your heart is in the right place but it's when we find these "Noble Cause Clauses" that don't exist in the Constitution, and take action because "it feels like the right thing to do" we aid and abet those who steal our Freedoms.

God Bless

Well we already are doing umpteen vital things now based on a silly putty Constitution. It all ought to be rolled back to a more law-respectful foundation, but the love of God is the only thing that is going to get enough support to get motion in that direction. Everything else is wishing and hoping and dreaming — not even “rock ribbed conservatives” can find themselves agreeing with one another as long as they each grind their own secular axes.

Philosophically, I agree. But.....I believe that those of us who worry and work so hard to "try to make things better" are spinning our wheels. God has already told us how deep into the sewer the Earth will go before Jesus returns to set things right. Being a believer, I do not think we will be moving towards a God-based future until He finishes the job of vanquishing Satan. All we are doing now is being a bit disobedient ("resists not evil") by presuming to try to do His job despite what He has told us is in store, and being distracted from our only usefulness to Him by concentrating on carrying the Word and tending to our own souls and being good witnesses for our families and for others.

That won't stop me from supporting Cruz (or Walker if Cruz stumbles) and trying for a more sane government, but I know that it is just an exercise in futility - He has passed the edict to us and we need to prepare ourselves and our families/children to carry His Word.

I think it helps to review history. Why did America do as well as it did, flawed and troubled and sinful as it was. De Tocqueville characterized America as “a country with the soul of a church.” There is only one way that can happen. Atheism does not do this.

To my observation, the Lord often (though there is no scriptural guarantee, only suggestive patterns of biblical and world history) matches willing evangelists up with the elect. Having the omnipotence of God, He can put whomever He wishes in any time or place. An effort to “awaken the elect” could well succeed.

Get the spiritual foundations right and many other things will go right, not because we were successfully using the spiritual foundations as a tool, but as a witness to the spiritual foundations.
