Francis is not naïve. He knows quite well his goal. He rescued Marxist liberation theology from the dustbin of history and his sympathy for Marxist dictators while using silk glove when dealing with Islamic terrorists is well documented.

“Year 1998 ran when a titled book was published Dialogues between Juan Pablo II and Fidel Castro. The work consisted in fact of a compilation of homilies pronounced by the Pope during its visit to Cuba and of the speeches that, in answer, the Caribbean dictator had pronounced. Starting off of that base, the book did not present/display greater interest in the measurement in which it was limited to gather texts of circumstances. Nevertheless, yes was more than showy its prologue. Throughout almost half hundred of pages, that introduction presented/displayed a vision of certainly remarkable Cuba.”

“It attributed its evils not to the communist dictatorship but to which it denominated the blockade of the United States; it loaded later against the capitalist system being based even on some of pontifical texts of Juan Pablo II and, finally, it affirmed that the political and social system closest to the social doctrine of the catholic church was a socialism like the Cuban whenever the idea of God was added to him. When concluding the reading of the prologue, little doubt could have that his author got along with the Cuban dictatorship and did not feel a special affection by the liberal democracy. The author of that prologue, in addition, was not Leonardo Boff, Gustavo Gutiérrez, Jon Sobrino or some other of the theologians of the Liberation. It was called, in fact, Jorge Mario Bergoglio and was archbishop of Buenos Aires. Today everybody knows like the Pope Francisco.” (César Vidal-a historian and Spanish writer with ample repercussion in expanded mass media and one ready one of professional prizes. This Pope IMO is an enabler of all rotten things.
Anti Israel, does nothing about the Priest pedophiles throughout Europe. The Vatican bank money launders for bad people and they don't pay their taxes on non religion income.
Meanwhile they scream everyone else should give all they have to the poor.

This Pope is the Catholic Church version of our President Obama. God needs to call this Pope to retirement quickly IMO.

Whether he did or did not only matterers academically. This pope is a socialist progressive and he is political not religious. He needs to stick to his religion and leave the political statements to the evil doers.

Notice that the numbers of Christians gets lower every passing day? Why does the pope not get it? HE is the problem!

"This word parsing doesn’t explain the medallion."

There was an exchange of gifts, a routine practice between heads of state. PA leader Mahmoud Abbas gave Pope Francis an olivewood rosary, presumably signifying that he hopes the Pope will appreciate prayer and be a man of prayer.

Pope Francis gave Abbas a medallion with the Angel of Peace on it, presumably signifying that he hopes he will appreciate peace and be a man of peace. He used the words “che lei possa essere un angelo della pace” --- which this article in the Jewish Press translates as "that you might become an angel of peace."

It was not an accolade, like a Papal Peace Prize of some sort. It was the customary exchange of diplomatic gifts. Pope Francis did not do this "as pope," but explicitly as "Jorge Bergoglio," the head of the Vatican State.

Not an achievement award, but more like a prayer.

Any person of good will wants this.

Praying for peace and our enemies is a good thing.

Signing treaties with terrorist that wish to go against God’s word is an entirely different activity.

Does God wish for us to go along to get along if we are disobeying Him?

Thank you. I am very aware of the different sects and their multiple views.

We are not discussing the views of man here, we are discussing what God has commanded.

Our state of affairs both politically and personally are due to our disobedience to God and obedience to man’s fallible nature.

A little confusing...The pope again doesn't refute what is claimed he said but some apologist does it for him...The news outlets are wrong 100% of the time...

Whether he called Abbas an angel of peace or called for him to be an angel of peace is merely semantics and not the offense.

Exactly...He has officially sided against Israel...Against God...Any thing else is just window dressing...

Just to be clear: do you think that the social-democratic non-Messianic secular state of Israel is the Israel of the Prophets?

If so, then weren't the original Zionists themselves very much in disobedience when they first accepted as the 1948 borders of Israel significantly less than "from the Nile (which is mainly modern Egypt and Sudan) to the Euphrates" (modern-day Iraq).

That is, it should comprise parts what is today Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, part of Asian Turkey, and of course all of Israel, including Gaza and the West Bank.

So it seems arguable (I am not taking this position, but it is arguable) that present-day Israel is no more "the legitimate Israel" than is any other land in that region. Some of the Haredi say that present-day Israel is apostate and must fall, and the true Israel will be a Messianic Monarchy whose law under halachic law based on the Torah.

I am not at all sure that your position is more religiously legitimate than that of the Haredi. You are referring to the same Scriptures ("what God has commanded") but reaching strikingly different conclusions.

I take no sides here.

The boundaries of the State of Israel today do not match boundaries alluded to or prescribed in the Bible. So your objection is already nullified in that "Territorial Israel," "Eretz Israel" as defined in the Bible has not existed for millennia. Not only that, but Israel is supposed to be a Messianic monarchy, not a social democracy/secular state. So it is dubious as to whether the State of Israel is the true Israel of the Prophets.

Wrong: the objection is not nullified because even though Israel today does not occupy all the land allotted to it - and which is what it can deceptively be said that Israel today does match the boundaries described in the Bible - it still occupies land which God gave it, and forbid to be divided.

Boundaries of the Promised Land can be seen here and descriptions of the differences can be seen here

Secondly, even though the form of government is different, the fact is that the Hebrews do possess land God promised to them, with a government that fulfills conditions of rightful ownership. And which they obtained after the Jewish people uniquely maintained a distinct enough identity so that Hitler and Stalin could oppress and kill multitudes of them (Rome also had a part), and they could populate Palestine, despite losing their land and being scattered into the 4 "corners" of the earth.

In addition to which was the Divine providence in defeating the Arabs which sought to destroy them beginning on the first day after Israel declared itself a state.

Of course, but sanctioning such things as homosexual parades and rights then Israel is making God her enemy, and inviting judgment, which will occur before they turn to the Lord, after the full number of the Gentiles has been saved, and which must occur before the Lord's return.

You beat me to it!

Are you kidding? The usual clan will not only not apologize but come up with other baseless arguments in order to support their original comments..........

It is what it is I guess...........sheesh.

Gay marriage, gay adoption via surrogate mothers (Nepali women, for instance, exploited as paid reproductive concubines), legal abortion and atheism.

Israel's Jews are no more under halachic law than are San Francisco's.

I'm not saying this to give an all-warts view or paint an anti-Jewish stereotype. I tend to biased in favor of Israel and Israelis. In fact, I have a strong pro-Israel political bent especially as regards foreign and military policy.

But I don't think there is a theological reason to think God's promises are to be enforced for anti-Jesus anti-Torah apostates. The USA hasn't a role in carrying out either His promises or His chastisements regarding Israel. In fact we are under the same judgment.
