Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will announce Monday that he is taking a major step toward seeking the Republican presidential nomination by establishing a committee to formally explore a White House bid, CNN has learned.
The creation of an exploratory committee will allow Jindal to raise money to pay for activities such as political travel as he considers whether to join a crowded GOP presidential primary field. Jindal's campaign is expected to officially announce the creation of the committee early Monday afternoon, but has already launched a website promoting the Louisiana governor's possible candidacy.
"If I run, my candidacy will be based on the idea that the American people are ready to try a dramatically different direction," Jindal says in a forthcoming news release provided to CNN. "Not a course correction, but a dramatically different path."

I can’t see a single thing any of your choices of running mates for Ted Cruz brings to the ticket. And with all due respect your choices for Walker aren’t a whole lot better.
Thanks dd. The Walker choices are drawn from the list of possible and declared candidates, and are picked to broaden the ticket — Latino, women, larger lib states (Peter King). Cruz is Latino, so the choices were Trump (an ideal duel second, discussed this with someone else yesterday), women (Fiorina is from California). My ideal ticket in a way would be Cruz-Walker, but that would be a waste of Walker’s talents, would remove a popular and effective governor from a mostly blue state, and Walker’s young enough to run in 2024. So, for that matter, is Cruz. A Walker-Cruz ticket would be great, but Cruz has work ahead in the Senate, again, VP would be a waste of his talents.
The gotcha question for Jindal will be “Will you be able to deal with Pakistan?” It will be asked and there will be stories from Pakistan about his running for the White House. Almost certainly the narrative the media will spin.
Martinez may be an interesting choice but Fallin is more concervative and it's unlikely that Martinez would make that big a difference in the hispanic vote. Rubio might help the ticket, and it's not like he has another job to go back to. I wish Sandoval would run for the Senate and not the VP spot. Carson, Fiorina, and King are a no for the same reason they're a no for Cruz. Haley is a no because while unions are fading in influence having two politicians known for their jihads against unions would still likely put Ohio in the Democrat slot and kill any chance they might have in Michigan. And Ayotte is a stone RINO.
The problem with Walker is, I fear, he is too establishment. He would be the type to get elected, and then leave Conservatives behind. He’s not bad, per se, but I’d rather see him prove his Conservative chops as Cruz’s VP. I can get behind a Walker administration, after 8 years of Cruz!
Dennis Michael Lynch has already thrown his hat into the ring. Complete political outsider. Interesting guy. He’s probably close to Cruz ideologically.
You forgot someone. Jim Gilmore, a conservative who was a governor of Virginia and RNC chairman, announced, last Nov., that hell probably run for president.
“YOU ARE THE HILLARY LOVER.”
Oh, just stop it. It’s way too early to be hearing that crap for another 18 months and that kind of attitude is what gave us Obama.
Provide a solid conservative candidate if you want a republican to win. Otherwise it’ll be the same result as the past election.
Actually, just went back and looked at some of Dennis Michael Lynch’s stuff, and most of it has been scrubbed. Turns out he only wanted to sell some of his border documentaries. He talked a good game but hoodwinked a lot. Unmasking DML has interesting data on Lynch. What a putz. Good riddance.
Leftist? You call Walker a leftist who I support. You are a fool. An absolute fool and what a doosh of a person to wish you would drop dead as a compliment. You are a disaster for our party. You want Hillary and I don’t care what your stupid nonsense says, you don’t vote for Walker then you are a loser.
I wasn't calling Walker a leftist.
You are a fool. An absolute fool and what a doosh of a person to wish you would drop dead as a compliment.
All me to remind you of FR's policies on posting:
"NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts."
You are a disaster for our party.
Excellent! Mission accomplished, then.
You want Hillary and I dont care what your stupid nonsense says, you dont vote for Walker then you are a loser.
Boo friggin hoo. I love my Country, and I refuse to support the party that set out to "crush the Tea Party". In essence, the GOP is DEAD. Long live Conservatism. So, take a hike, leftist.
Personally I don’t see any reason to exclude Walker. It’s just way too early to be that exclusionary.
No vote for Jeb though. No vote for Christie either. None for Rubio. Probably. Depends how desperate things get there I guess. But he (Rubio) was way too much in the tank for amnesty just a few years ago. His recent “conversion” seems just a bit too convenient.
And of course no vote for Jindal. His hands are much too tainted with the stains from the senate primary in his state IMO. Much too tainted with the convenience of race card bait used by a Republican in his state, who apparently he supported throughout such a dirty campaign. He’s shown his colors too, sorry to say.

Ok, so I think that Walker is a "lesser evil" - I think it would be Dubya's administration all over with Walker. I wouldn't mind seeing him prove his worth as VP and, if he did well enough, I might be able to get behind a Walker administration, AFTER 8 years of Cruz. Compared to the rest, Walker certainly is preferable, but the issue is continuing to vote for the "lesser evil". I've done that for over 20 years, and all its done is push the GOP further and further to the left.
Reason #5: Republicans clash over NSA surveillance powers - [Walker supports program as is]
Ok thanks for the info. Both of your posts were helpful to me; before I didn’t see much difference between the two.
Now it’s quite clear, Cruz needs to be supported first.
However, also in the interests of clarity, even given what you have posted with Walker, if it comes down to him and the Hildebeast, I’m going to make an effort to vote for him. Even given all you have posted, he’s just not the same as a Jeb Bush or Chris Christie or even Bobby Jindal.
Can't bring myself to it! I've voted for the "lesser evil" for over 20 years. Look at where it's got us. At this point, the GOP really needs to be destroyed, and at all costs. If that means Hitlery gets in, sobeit. At that point, we can hope to fully crush the GOP and get some actual Constitutional Conservatives in office. If not, well, the ballot box ain't the only remedy we have.
So, he’s not declared, but could go on the possible list. Thanks PhilCollins.

The point of having a running mate is to broaden support for the ticket. Oklahoma would be a geographical negative for Cruz, and like it or not, Fallin’s gender will be more than offset because of the Lockett execution.
