People didn’t care then. You can tell because Obama got re-elected 2 months later. People won’t care next year either. Yeah, she screwed, but it’s just not an issue the resonates with the mushy-middle or left and won’t turn the tide on any election.
It didn’t help that many on our side stayed home because they didn’t like our nominee, and I for one will never forgive them for this

2. If the crime happened a while back, claim that the accuser is dredging up ancient history and that we need to put this behind us and Move On. (See also, “get back to the work that the people elected me to do”.)
