Because God has been known in the past to slow things down, or draw them to a halt even......things are not always what they might appear to be.
Additionally..there’s a whole lot of other things that need to be in place which aren’t as yet. Moving toward, but not there.

Funny you should mention that. I’ve been reading Tom Cahill’s Jews’ Gift to the World, and he says that before Abraham, there was no history, because Mesopotamian and other civilizations viewed all human events as cyclical, and the individual’s life as a mere reflection of the stars’ movement. His Biblical scholarship and theories are just plain awful. He misquotes, flaunts his ignorance, pontificates shamelessly, and claims to draw from a wealth of Biblical textual scholarship that even a poor slob like me can see through.
But he is on the ball about this one thing. What he misses is that those who hate the Jews and hate Western civilization really long for that cyclical world view. They want a Thousand Year Reich with a god king ruling absolutely in a never-changing cycle of divine Fuhrers, or Party Chairmans. They look at the five hundred years of Ottoman stagnation as a good thing and long for it, because nothing ever changed, but moved in cycles like the seasons. Same thing with DAESH (or ISIS if you prefer). They want to end linear history, because they want back in to the Caliphate, which never changes. Anti-Semitism is anti-Risky-Schemism, trading progress and hope in for never-ending bondage. Islam is the same thing, only without the polytheism. Big deal.

Israel’s greatest security threat is coming from Syria, a shite-secular regime.
I not really concerned with sounding like an isolationist, but why should we worry? All I’m concerned with is the safety of Israel.

All I know is that some point - the Islamic nations will come against Israel - and will meet their waterloo. However it happens - it will happen - and I believe Iran is behind all of this - and our stupid elected officials trust them? What suckers they are.
Yes, God can slow things down and He can also speed things up - He is in control, and the nations are aligning themselves just as Ezekiel prophesied. It’s rather fascinating to watch given the time we live in - to think we are the generation witnessing the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies. It’s also a scary time on earth - for those who are not paying attention. One day they will look around and look up from their tv sets and wonder what the heck happened. Keep your Bible in one hand and today’s news in the other - I didn’t give a timetable, nor should or could I as to when this will happen - but, it WILL happen.
