Josh Duggar, one of the members of the family that stars in TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" ... was the subject of a police investigation for allegedly sexually molesting 5 girls, some of whom are his sisters.
The story was broken by In Touch Weekly, but TMZ has confirmed with law enforcement that Josh Duggar -- who was around 14 at the time -- was the alleged molester against 5 girls starting in 2002.
According to the police report, Josh fondled the genitals and breasts of the girls, some of whom were sleeping, but sometimes they were interacting with him ... in one case reading a book.
There was another reported incident 9 months later.
According to the police report, the police were not immediately contacted. Instead, Jim Bob, the dad, met with church elders and agreed Josh should be put in a treatment program. The police report says Josh's mom, Michelle, said it wasn't really a treatment center ... they simply sent Josh to a guy who was remodeling a building to do manual labor.
In 2006, the family was scheduled to appear on "Oprah," and before the show someone sent an email to Harpo warning that Josh had molested girls. Harpo forwarded the email to a hotline, which triggered a police investigation.
Cops wanted to question Josh, but Jim Bob lawyered him up and Josh declined the invitation.
Josh, who is now 27, apparently cannot be charged because the statute of limitations has run.
As for the Duggars, one of the family members told investigators, "this entire incident had brought the family closer to God" ... this according to the police report.

I don’t live under a rock or in a cave, have cable, running water and electricity and still have never heard of the Duggans.
Admittedly I really don’t know what I don’t know but I am confused that this ‘trite’ is public knowledge when all I would really like to see is some of the pResidents grades or other proof he is anything near what he says he is.
I understand that the ‘press’ has other things to do etc and I am still amazed that the AHIC addresses a Graduating Class of a Military Academy and tells the prospective Ensigns that the biggest threat to them and the world is global warming.....
Funny seeing as how their job is Bulk drug interdiction, boarding craft in hostile waters etc etc etc

BTW when I refer to the ‘news’ as trite, I am by no means condoning his despicable actions, just wondering where the priorities are.
His parents need to have their parenting monitored.
They lawyered up, maneuvered to keep him from facing charges, and the only police officer they ever allowed him to speak to, a family friend, is himself now a convicted child molester serving 60 years in prison for crimes against children.
The head of their church is a child molester. I am beginning to see a pattern. How about you?
They allowed their child-molesting son to return to their home over and over, only to get caught over and over.
We only know their names because they wanted notoriety and fame and sold their children’s lives for cash. If their children’s privacy have been violated, the parents are responsible.
(2) They can also argue that if they did not publicize the crimes, there would be no consequences.
(3) They have a strong argument that there would be no consequences. It looks like Jim Bob Duggar did nothing except (a) sent his son away for a few months for a summer job and (b) tell a state trooper who was a personal friend about it - a trooper who did not pursue the matter further and who did not file a report. That trooper is now serving an effective life sentence for child pornography.
(4) Jim Bob waited long enough for the statute of limitations to run out.
(5) The media is certainly enjoying this ideologically - but the Duggars made sure that it would be a perfect scandal.
(6) The victims probably got no real help, watched as their attacker was mollycoddled and lionized, and the attacker now has small children of his own.
At least Oprah never rubbed her little sister in her privates when she was 15 and the little sister was 4.

I have no idea what exactly happened with the girl or girls.
And I don't care to.
And I don't need to, in order to make a judgement call.
I don't know if in the last 13 years, Josh has changed or not. I know nothing of his character. All I know, is that this family, in spite of the past, TRIES to present itself in a Christ honoring way.
What I ALSO KNOW...Is that I AM a man, SAVED BY GRACE. I have used up more than my share of God's grace. And still, he pours out more to me.
I guess, to me, when one receives unmerited grace, they wish to pass it on to others. But when you earn "grace", you expect others to earn it also.
The report wasn’t leaked. They filed a FOI for it.
He admitted it. Which facts are we waiting on?
The police friend was convicted of unspeakable crimes against children. He was the only officer they allowed to speak to their son.
The head of their church was convicted of unspeakable crimes against children.
They refused to allow their son to face any consequences of molesting his young sisters and at least one family friend from the ages of 14-17.
The parents let him return to their home at 14, then again months later, and again when he was 17 and facing felonies.
Do you need to know what they ate for dinner before you condemn child molestation?

Fact: normal 14 year olds do not creep into toddlers' rooms at night and fondle them while they are sleeping.
He is a predator, and is still a predator today.

yes, and Parents, media, Josh, didn’t think of the girls then and now.
As bad as the parents were and Josh having his own kids, those girls don’t deserve to be victimized again by the media.
I know how it feels to have been abused as a kid. You NEVER “get over it”. It impacts for life. To have it splashed, rather gleefully across the tabloids, is media assault on top of what they were forced to live with.
Josh is getting his consequences, I feel for the victims being collateral damage.
I’m disgusted with the Media.
From what has been gleamed from the Police Report, I’m disgusted with Mom/Dad.
I hope his children have been spared and the victims will not have further pain inflicted by the press.
His victims need and deserve justice. They can never be made completely whole in this lifetime, but the grace of Jesus will of course help them.
But something is desperately wrong here. In your opinion, what should be done to give these girls justice? In other words, do you think they just simply accept what happened, that they were molested, then paraded on TV, now humiliated again, and it’s all about Josh?

Let's pretend that people who behave like this at 14 just stop when they're 14. It's demonstrably false, but let's pretend so that your moronic argument has a fighting chance.
So you are effectively arguing that there is a age below which it is OK to assault toddlers and 14 is definitely below that age. What's the age at which assaulting toddlers is off limits? 18? 17?
I saw that, but I also read that the Law prohibits the release of juvenile records and sexual assault victims.
Yes, the media can argue they didn’t identify them, but it was not redacted that the victims were his sisters (plus one non-family member) and which sisters those were.
Sometimes facts get in the way of a fantastic story...
