I read the article and his request sounded perfectly reasonable to me.
If I had been in his shoes, I would have done the same thing.
Shame on his school. Shame on them. Their desire for diversity for its own sake is more important to them than the well being of a veteran who is one of their students.
Well, what would you expect from a Baptist university? He probably should transfer to a public university.

Probably not to well I suppose. Assuming this guy is a white American veteran of an authorized American ‘war’ he probably will just be vilified and threatened with imprisonment for being such.

These campuses are like Stalin-lite. Pronouncements of mental disorder for “wrong” thinking. The only thing these schools aren’t doing, yet, is having students disappeared.
You nailed it. In Murfreesboro, TN the VA hospital there has a large shrink population and a lot of mental patients. Now, they are loaded with Muslim MDs and also a number from India who also wear their native garb. I am so darn sick of our Gov not making these foreigners ASSIMILATE.
