Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar built their custom home with a number of measures that physically separate their sons - including molester Josh - from their daughters, Daily Mail Online can reveal.
The couple, who have 19 children, moved into the sprawling 7,000-square-foot house they designed and helped to build in January 2006 - four years after their eldest son confessed to his sordid actions.
Strikingly, they built their daughters' shared bedroom at the opposite end of their home's second floor to their sons' room - with their master bedroom situated right in front of the girls' one, 'blocking' it.
It means that their sons - including Josh, before he moved out - have to walk past their parents' bedroom if they wish to access their sisters' room. They also have to walk past Michelle's office.
And the girls' and boys' rooms are not only located at polar ends of the second floor - they are also separated by a catwalk that stretches across the family's double-height living room and kitchen.

In my uncle’s family the girls were all in a dorm like room on the second floor across from Mom and Dad’s and the boys were in a daylight basement.
Sex exploration and sex contact have been known to happen with sibs since the beginning of time.
Heck, many times the contact was same sex, girl with girl and boy with boy.

Huck has very foolishly entwined himself with the Duggars. He will have to bend over backwards to extricate himself from their clutches.
Thank you! I cannot believe, even here, so many people willing to trash this family. I never watched the show, and don’t really have any history on the family except what I have heard, but this notion the Christians are perfect and never fall short is just odd. Of course we do. And no one seems to understand that when this man was a child he went to his parents and confessed. He didn’t hide it, the girls had no idea of the inappropriate touching, which is all that ever happened. If he hadn’t no one would ever have known. But he did. I would be willing to bet NO young boy who bumped into a girl at that age just to feel a boob, ever confessed to his parents. It was wrong, they were his sisters, but that is no reason to ruin his OR the girls lives over it. The girls trauma is going to be caused by the illegal releases of his sealed files, not the incident.

That the girls had to be PROTECTED and isolated from their brothers, by master bedroom suite, office, and prayer rooms speaks volumes. The parents had to PLAN an elaborate labrynthe to keep their daughters safe...Down to NO hide and seek. Wow. Much more I fear to this story.
No, these people are not real christians——they are members of a cult. Josh should have to register as a sex offender. This was repeated touching and therefore MOLESTATION. And it’s disgusting that you would dismiss this simply because they proclaim that they’re so christian.
And if they hadn’t taken these measures, they’d be damned for that. No way to win.

Not really. There were eleven children and it was the best way to manage them.
As for same sex sexual exploits among sibs and even cousins, this does happen and most parents do try their best to be vigilant.

Heck I remember playing Hospital with the neighbor boys and we’d use sticks as needles....pulled down pants and all exposed just to give a check butt a good jab! Oh how we laughed.... Nobody saw it as a sexual thing...we were too busy laughing over who got the worst shot!
