“One of the speakers slated for the Vatican rollout of the long-awaited Papal document on climate change once said the earth is overpopulated by at least 6 billion people. “

BB goes for click-bait.

What the dude said was if we have global warming to the extreme it will reduce the worlds population to one billion.

This Professor John Schnellnhuber is a real doozy.

His ideas are equal in lunacy to that which is chiseled on the Georgia Guidstones - but some high ranking, influential people are listening to him nonetheless:

In a talk given to what’s described as the “failed” 2009 Copenhagen climate conference, reported in the New York Times, Schnellnhuber, who has advised German President Angela Merkel and is a visiting professor at Oxford, said of global warming: “In a very cynical way, it’s a triumph for science because at last we have stabilized something –- namely the estimates for the carrying capacity of the planet, namely below 1 billion people.”

So wich ls lt; that they lack Faith that God”s creation can support the population or that God can kill off as many billions as is necessary to stabilize things? Hmmm....

“Global warming” is just the latest in a long line of hysterical crusades to which we seem to be increasingly susceptible. Thomas Sowell

The hoax of the global warming will end as discredited as was the Malthusian predictions and the devastating global cooling fad forecasted during the 1970s of imminent cooling of the Earth’s surface and atmosphere culminating in a period of extensive glaciation and world starvation.

Weather changes are permanent features since the very beginning of this planet. The sun, and in first instance God, are the responsible of those changes, is presumptuous for man, even if is a Pope, to think that he is God and can control the nature. The pimps of this cult, as Gore and unscrupulous “scientists”, are becoming multimillionaires exploiting, with complicity of the media, the naiveté and ignorance of the people.

Is alarming the parallelism between president Obama and Pope Francis, one is destroying U.S.; the other, the Church.

Thanks, Mrs. Don-o! What a time that was - Reagan, John-Paul and Thatcher. Will we ever see those times again - in our lifetime???

Oops, my error: Cardenal is not a SJ. He used to be a OCSO (Trappist monk, Order of Cistercians of Strict Observance, like Thomas Merton) --- by the time he joined the Sandinista government he was not a monk but was still a priest, and I don't know where he was incarinated. (WHich means I don't know whether he was still in a religious order, or if he was under a regular diocesan bishop) --- in any case, he was still a priest. Pope JP2 had ordered him to quit the Sandinista government, and he had refused.

He seems to have gone through some ideological changes, however. Cardenal left the FSLN in 1994, protesting the authoritarian direction of the party under Daniel Ortega. Before the 2006 Nicaraguan election, Cardenal stated, "I think an authentic capitalism, as Montealegre's (Eduardo Montealegre, the presidential candidate) would be more desirable than a false Revolution".

I can't for the life of me figure out what Pope Francis is up to. His appointment of Dominican Timothy Radcliffe as consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace was terrible. His schmoozing with Ban Ki-Moon and Jeffrey Sachs is even worse. Almost worst of all, if there can be degrees of "worstest of the worst" is his choice of John Schnellnhuber as one of the three presenters for the upcoming encyclical: this man is a world-class dangerous fascist. A term I do not use lightly.

What's amazing is that at least for the past 6 months, Pope Francis has been speaking frequently and forcefully against the sex-gender-family deconstructionists, who are (as it should be obvious by now) in league with the old Malthusian population-controllers.

I have seen indications that he will do so again in his upcoming encyclical Laudato Sii.

I know, Mrs. Don-o. I don’t know what he’s about either - or why another Pope was seemingly pushed out to make way for him. I just say my prayers and attend Mass and hope for the best. And, sadly, expect the worst. But that’s true of all of western civilization - not just the Catholics.

Are they going to disinterred, Hitler, Stalin and Mao to take a sample of they DNA and make several clones to take care of the arduous job of keeping the world population under one billion?

Unless he’s going to roll back the contraception rule, he’ll have a hard time pushing the 87% reduction in world population. And maybe toss in euthanasia, suicide (assisted or not) and just plain old murder.

I didn’t think hard times would come in my lifetime. I lived in a time when as a child I said: “I’m so glad I don’t live in the Soviet Union where they put people in prison and insane asylums who don’t agree with the government.” How wrong I was. It’s coming - and it’s probably here for some. Certainly, for bakers. Bakers!

These Catholics are all over the place - they believe there are too many people but then don’t even believe in simple birth control. Of course to get to a population under a billion they would need to support mass starvation and genocide I guess.
