Why Donald Trump should not be taken seriously or included in the debates

Donald Trump, in his own words…

Trump on Health Care “We must have universal healthcare,” Trump wrote in his book, “I’m a conservative on most issues but a liberal on this one.” In an interview earlier this year he continued to applaud single payer health care systems used in other countries.

Trump on Taxes “I would impose a one-time, 14.25% tax on individuals and trusts with a net worth over $10 million,” Trump said. “For individuals, net worth would be calculated minus the value of their principal residence. That would raise $5.7 trillion in new revenue, which we would use to pay off the entire national debt.”

Trump on Trade Trump has called for “a 20% tax for importing goods,” and a “Twenty-five percent tax on China, unless they behave.”

Trump on Eminent Domain When asked about the 2005 case Kelo v. City of New London, that allowed economic development to be a legitimate reason for government to exercise eminent domain, Trump told Fox News (7/19/05), “I happen to agree with it 100 percent.” Trump was unsuccessful in his own attempt to have officials in New Jersey use eminent domain to condemn a home on property he wanted to buy for part of his hotel and casino.

Funny, I think he is in the race to draw the populist, anti-Jeb votes in the primaries. I think Trump wants Jeb Bush to win.

Actually, I really believe the fix is in, and the establishment Republicans are going to make sure Jeb gets the nomination. They are quite good at managing to get what they want starting at the county level.

C’mon Catherine.

Let’s admit it, you are supporting Ted Cruz, so you are on a Donald Trump thread trying to ruffle feathers here.

Fair enough. But he did ask you a question. Can you answer it?

That would be foolish at this stage. He kicked the can four years ago. The fact that he has announced leads me to believe he intends to win.

So you like the idea of jacking up the prices on virtually everything to punish America into doing things your way?

((shakes head walking away))

Nonsense. There are 10,000+ conservative business people who donate in smaller amounts to democrats. It’s sometimes a business necessity.

virtually everything

I like the idea of off setting income taxes or eliminating them altogether and replacing then with import tariffs and a NSRT better.

Trump had the nerve to say all the right things today.

That simply cannot be tolerated.

Only our people are allowed to say the right things.

I’d like to see a debate excluding graham, Bush, Christie and even Huckabee and Santorum... Invite Trump, Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Walker, Fiorina, Jindal and Perry and have at it. Then we can add Santorum and Huckabee later and maybe Carson. They will just drone on about social issues, which is good to do, but not the only issue out ether.

Actually I thought he gave a good speech. Previously I have heard him make strong anti-Obama statements.

Exactly, at least he’s SAYING some of the things we are all thinking. That’s a start. The rest are too timid so far in this campaign and Lord knows timidity isn’t going to help right now. I like a few of our candidates at this point…Walker, Cruz, Perry…but when I watch Trump speak the contrast is depressing. The rest are so entrenched in the political system I know their ability to change anything for the better is kind of wishful thinking.

He is for being tough on Chinese imports, until they play fair with us (I am all for that).

Trump talks about tariffs but never talks about the real problems that are destroying American jobs.

Taxes, regulations and government spending.

Trump has it backwards. He wants more government regulations. He wants tariffs.

So what is Trump’s problem with Cruz?

At the very least he’ll force people like Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Scott Walker to take a strong stand on illegal immigration. Let’s be honest all three of these guys have been squishes on the subject, and certainly none of them have even come close to voicing the truth about Mexico’s invasion of our country the way Trump did today.

Many Candidates say good things. Like Trump, today.

But what do they do?

Cruz and many of the candidates failed with ObamaTRADE.

Many of them are phonies and still support ObamaCARE.

What will they do? The GOP generally LIES and screws
its voters, recently even with IRS attacks.

Trump is right on.

He is saying the right things, in the right ways, about the right people and the right countries.

For the right reasons, even, it seems. He is 100% on the money on so many very important issues.

Nobody else, is saying one single word. Trump is completely right.

The rest will either get with it and start to talk about these very important issues which Americans care deeply about.

Or Trump is going to walk away with this thing.

(which I wouldn’t mind)

Just saying. Speak up people. You have seen the competition today.

He is very serious, and you are now competing with him.

Do you realize how things have changed?

Well the fact Trump decided to run, knowing that Cruz was already running, suggests to me that Trump thinks Cruz isn’t the best person for the job, and I want to know why Trump thinks he’s better than Cruz.
