A National Tragedy and a Partisan Response

Why do black lives only seem to matter when white people take them? Why does the president of the United States think it’s proper to take a horrible racial tragedy in Charleston South Carolina as an excuse to bash America as the violence capital of the “advanced” world, and a prop for Democrats’ lust for gun control legislation in a state that already has it? Last year 82 people were shot over the Fourth of July weekend in Chicago. 16 of them died. The victims and the shooters were black.

obummer wants gun control the way exterminators want pest control. Get rid of all of them, except in the hands of every agency the fed govt ever created.
Imagine a republican, just ONE, had the courage to tell the statistics on gun violence in black and white areas and the murder rate of blacks on whites and vice versa to the press during a conference.

It only seems to matter when white people kill black people because that's the narrative foisted on the country for the last fifty years. For the last half century the media has been intent on claiming black people are daily murdered by white racists at alarming rates.

The truth is blacks are fifty times more likely to violently assault a white person than the other way around. But that is a truth highly discomfiting to our masters in the media who dearly wish the reverse was true. So when some white homicidal maniac murders black people, the media has to play it up as much as possible.

Meanwhile, on a daily basis twenty black males kill other black males. Little coverage of that though. Doesn't fit the narrative.

That last paragraph should read “on a daily basis twenty black males are killed by other black males.”

I know the dems would have loved it closer to the election and probably hate that he had drug and mental health problems. They want a perfectly sane, drug free white guy to shoot up a black church two weeks before the election.
Vultures.
What a tragedy. Obummer has really done wonders for race relations.

Well, the Left has programmed the abortion/eugenic survivors to kill each other.

That kind of makes me think of the revelation made near the end of the 1981 movie “Scanners”, in which we find out that the scanners’ extraordinary mental powers were a side effect of an anti-morning sickness medication given to pregnant mothers many years earlier on an experimental basis.

Notice all the media stories over the past 48 hours decrying the Charleston shootings because they give all racists a bad name and will result in oppression against them?
Me neither.

Dylaan Roof stopped to reload his gun 5 times in the Charleston AME Church. If only one of the bible study members had possessed a firearm, most of the victims would still be alive.

Incredible column. Thanks for posting. What was going on while he was reloading? Were the people too old to climb all over him?

The difference is that when two terrorists with assault rifles dressed in body armor came for the Mohammed cartoonists in Texas, they were stopped by a middle-aged man with a handgun. Or when a jihadist beheaded a woman in Oklahoma and was slicing off the head of another, he was stopped by an individual who appeared with a rifle and took the law into his own hands.

What is needed is people control and sane leadership will help. Don’t excuse actions make them cost too much.

It pains me to admit it, but for the last year or so, I have thoughts I shouldn’t have to have when I sit in church. I find myself choosing specific places to sit and looking around and assessing escape routes in the event of a shooter. It doesn’t help that everyone is facing the same way, so if someone comes in the main door in the back, it would take precious seconds for people to figure out what is going on. A cousin of mine belongs to a very large church ... they have armed security & also church members with discreet communications to keep an eye out and if they observe something that doesn’t look right, they can immediately report it to the security personnel. This weekend, there is a forum in the area for church members on church security - they were on the radio this morning, letting the community know there is more room if people want to attend - I suspect they’ll be jam packed. BTW, where I live, you cannot carry a concealed weapon into a place of religious worship while a meeting for religious purposes is being held at such place “without good and sufficient reason”. Personally, I think being in a place where it would like shooting fish in a barrel for some person of evil intent is sufficient reason. “Gun free” zones (i.e. zero guns except for criminals or the deranged) need to be abolished. Very troubling times .... prayers for America.

When it comes to preventing this happening to you or those you love, what law is compelling enough?
