Vast Ramifications in Senate Obamatrade Vote Tuesday
Center for Immigration Studies ^ | June 22nd, 2015 | By Jessica Vaughan

Posted on 06/22/2015 10:57:14 PM PDT by Mariner

Tomorrow the Senate will have to vote again whether to give President Obama fast-track authority to negotiate trade agreements that will have an enormous impact on the U.S. economy and future job prospects for U.S. workers — and significantly constrain congressional authority over U.S. immigration policy.

Republican leaders, who seem curiously eager to facilitate this deal for the president, have bent over backwards to assure the many skeptical Republican members that neither Trade Promotion Authority (TPA, or "fast-track" authority) nor the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) pact, which would be the next trade agreement to be rushed through the approval process on an up or down vote without possibility of amendments, includes or allows changes to immigration or visa law.

Some might be willing to trust our leaders on that, but in fact the biggest danger is not that the TPA bill and the TPP treaty make direct changes to immigration law. The biggest danger lies in the other deals that the president's team is working on. Provisions in these deals do change immigration laws, and also would prevent Congress from adjusting immigration laws that are currently being abused. That is the very goal of all trade pacts — to lock in open access to markets under current or more favorable terms, so that it cannot be changed. (For more on the implications of trade agreements for immigration law, see here.)

Where are the TPA and Cruz supporter now?

Probably sleeping, as I shall endeavor to do too.

The first time thru the Senate, Trade Promotion Authority barely survived a filibuster attempt. Eventually, it was passed by a 62-37 margin -- with 14 pro-trade Demmocrats voting "Aye" and 5 Republican Senators voting "No" (Susan Collins, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Jeff Sessions and Richard Shelby).

There is clearly sufficient support to win a majority, so the only way to stop it is with a filibuster -- which needs four more votes.

The Uniparty must be destroyed.

That means the Republican and Democrat parties. Both.

They are entirely dedicated to the demise of the United States.

Partisans are playing small ball.

Why should Cruz be different than other professional politicians who must obey their sugar daddy rich donors?

Why should Cruz be different than other professional pols who must obey their sugar daddy rich donors?

Because he appealed to small donors who want to change things to jump-start his campaign. Equally disturbing is that all the recently elected Senators who were supposed to change things (Ernst, Cotton, Sasse etc) ALL voted for it.

Despite the truths in your post, we are expected to keep up the charade that we live under a free government. I do not see how voting next year can deflect, let alone reverse our headlong dive into tyranny.

Article V before we can’t.

Vote again.

And if the outcome is not as desired...

Vote again.

And again.

And keep voting until the desired results are achieved, at which point there will be no further voting.

The internationalist scumbags employ the same tactics everywhere. How many times was Ireland made to vote on the EU? Until they got it “right”. Same sh!t here. McConnell, Boehner, et al are #@$% scum.

PRAY
My husband & I just prayed (w/ many tears from me)

My heart breaks for my country.....

......I rely on the sovereign will of God.

Corporately our nation (& many leaders) have grieviouly sinned against God.
America has aborted 57 million of her own children.

Still...I pray for mercy....and God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy.
He heard the prayers of the people as they repented....and spared Nineveh for a season...( until they forsake him again)

May He yet hear our prayers
