I’m not a native southerner, though I now live in Texas. No one in my family was even in this country until the late 1880s. So I’m don’t have a dog in this fight over the Confederacy - but I find it disgusted nonetheless, for 2 reasons: First, because debate is being utterly stifled - we are moving at a very rapid pace toward full Big Brotherism. Second, because if you erase (i.e. forget) about history, how are you supposed to avoid its mistakes?

It was clear from some of the antics at the end of the Clinton Administration, that the American Left sensed the opportunity to finish their malevolent destruction of the American heritage; that the end game was virtually at hand.
