Bristol Palin is pregnant again and doesn’t want a lecture about it
Washington Post ^ | June 25, 2015 | Helena Andrews

Bristol Palin is pregnant and this is news.

The 24-year-old daughter of former vice presidential candidate and “SNL” punching bag Sarah Palin has spent the last seven years since her mom’s failed bid for the White House making abstinence (and holiness in general) her personal and very profitable cause celeb.

In 2008, 17-year-old Palin’s unplanned teen pregnancy threatened to derail her mom’s White House hopes. But her potentially embarrassing narrative quickly turned to one of resilience and the reality shows followed. Palin appeared on season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars” and in her own Lifetime docu-series, “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.”

In 2009, Palin earned $262,500 as The Candie Foundation’s teen pregnancy ambassador but that same year told Fox’s Greta Van Susteren, “everyone should be abstinent or whatever but it’s not realistic at all.”

Back in the Jurassic Period when I was her age, I was, umm, "active" as well but, as a male, I was not subjected to names like "slut"

Of course not only promiscious women are sluts, promiscious men are Studs.

“I would be happy to never hear about her again.”

Me, too. I personally don’t like it when we excuse actions from some people simple because we perceive they are allies. What if this was a liberal woman telling us she thinks it’s OK to sleep with whoever she wants, i.e. no lectures? We’d probably condemn the sin and some would likely go so far as to call her a slut.

It doesn’t matter if we’ve all done sinful things. The issue isn’t whether we’re fallen creatures or not. The issue is acceptance and promotion of sin as being OK. I just don’t really see the difference between Bristol defiantly saying fornication is OK and homosexuals saying sodomy is OK. It’s all evil. It’s all destroying our society. And it all deserves to be properly called what it is.

Back in the day, popular culture called promiscuous women sluts and promiscuous men studs, but that was never the case in Christian communities or among moral people. They rightly said all promiscuity was wrong and condemned popular culture.

Feminists should have demanded a higher standard for men. Instead, they joined men in the gutter. That’s not liberation. It’s slavery to sin! Now popular culture says homosexual sodomy is good, clean fun. Yet, the narrow, unpopular path is the way to salvation.

Posting it and saying she doesn’t want a lecture isn’t kindness to start with. I’m not responding with hatred or anything like that. I’m just calling it as I see it. Bristol Palin is endorsing sin.

Perhaps because some of us concede having engaged in the same sinful behavior at her age and later repented and were forgiven and married and raised our own children and, as years go by strive to be closer to God and to please Him.

Also, homosexuality is inherently gravely disordered behavior in ways that fornication between one man and one woman is not. Such fornication is, no doubt, gravely displeasing to God but a foreshadowing of just one thing that actual marriage may bring to one's life. If that sin leads promptly to a proper marriage in which the husband will love, cherish and nurture his wife's life before his own, and God's forgiveness is sought by all concerned, then, perhaps, we would regard the couple as ideal exemplars thereafter.

Are the following words familiar? "...Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us..."

I don’t know if Sarah’s children are leading a more moral life than Chelsea Clinton. Do you? I’m not a Clinton fan but when is the last time Chelsea was involved in a bar fight or a party brawl? And she WAS married before she gave birth I have to give her that. I give Bristol marks for being anti abortion as compared to Chelsea.

While I am not personally close to either the wonderful Palins or the reprehensible KKKlintoons, from afar it's clear to me that even with their occasional missteps, every single one of the Palins take the moral highground. While they have sinned (we are all sinners), they remain resolutely pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun and anti-sodomy.

Turning to horsey Chelsea (yeeechhhh) KKKlinton, like their entire klan, she's anti-American. Her support of slaughtering innocent children is well known as is her stance on behalf of the abomination of sodomy. I've never heard Chelsea speak of God (and if she has, it was hypocritical). Plus, I've never seen her shoot a gun -- as have the Palins. And her so-called marriage? Everyone knows it's nothing but a sham.

So adding it all up, and even factoring in the occasional shortcomings on the Palin side if the ledger, they come out far better in the final analysis then the morally bankrupt KKKlintoons. I guess it really boils down to this. Would you rather have pro-American Patriot Bristol Palin as your next door neighbor or the 'RAT Chelsea KKKlintoon? That, at least to me, neatly settles the question.

If you think for one minute this woman is basking in her sin then you have bigger issues than she. Perfect people like chickens cannot resist drawn blood. The left uses the so called right’s chicken mentality to promote their sacred sacrifice abortion. Where is ‘daddy’ in all this condemnation. Playing Adam? Genesis 3:12

You’re talking about what might happen in the future should Bristol Palin marry, repent and form a good family. Of course I want her to have exactly that, but that is not what she’s doing NOW. In point of fact, a lecture is exactly what she needs.

BTW, Christians want to know when they’re doing something wrong. We accept “lectures,” because we aren’t perfect. We make mistakes, and so we look to our fellow Christians to help us do better. Are you saying it’s wrong to condemn the sin? Does love of the sinner require us to ignore the sin? I don’t think so.

The fact that she’s decided to have the baby is commendable certainly, but her defiant tone about fornication deserves no accolades. In fact, fornication is one of the main reasons we have so many abortions today!

Bristol Palin didn’t sin against me. I have nothing to forgive her for.

I never claimed she was basking in her sin. What I claimed was she’s defiant about it. If her tone was one of repentance, she’d deserve our support. She’s apparently not repentant, and some FReepers seem intent on excusing her actions simply because she’s a Palin. This is exactly how unrepentant sin has crept into so many churches. We ignore the sins of people we like, but we’re actually called by scripture to challenge sin and help our fellow Christians grow out of it.

BTW, if everyone behaved like Bristol Palin, we’d have even more abortion. That’s why people abort many children. They want the sex (particularly out of wedlock) but not the responsibility.

Every one of your sins is also a sin against yourself. Then forgive yourself if you won't forgive Bristol Palin before you brand her with a scarlet "F" for not living as perfect a life as you.

Now, it is waaaaaay past this old guy's bedtime. Good night and God bless!

Exactly who is she suppose to repent to? How do you know she has not already had a multitude of lectures? Seriously, have you ever been pregnant? This gal will be reminded the rest of her life of her sin, she sure does not need perfect people lecturing her just how horrible a person she is. Too many seem to think it is their obligation to make sure they are superior. They are the last to accept lectures over their own sins.

You’re using the same talking points the left uses to discredit Christians whenever we say we hate the sin and love the sinner. They say we aren’t really concerned about the sinner. We just want to feel superior. We’re just a bunch of holier than thou jerks, right?

Leftists love one Bible verse in particular: Matthew 7:1 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged.”

I’m not judging Bristol Palin’s salvation. That’s between her and God. What I am saying is she’s got a confrontational tone about it, and she’s wrong. Fornication is evil, and if everyone behaved like her, we’d have even more abortion. That’s not condemning her. It’s condemning her sin.

You do what you need to do. I prefer to consider the unborn child and leave the judging of his/or her mother and father’s sin to the perfect Judge.

I haven’t lived a perfect life. I’m as guilty as sin. The difference is I repent and want to warn others.

Christ didn’t ignore sin out of fear of offending people. Paul didn’t ignore unrepentant sin in the Corinthian church. I don’t claim to be like either of them, but I honestly do not understand why forgiveness has been distorted to mean we’re supposed to ignore sin.

I know self professed Christians who turn a blind eye to fornication while they condemn homosexuality. Fornication may not be depraved like homosexuality, but both are evil acts that ignore God’s will.

So you’d have no problem attending a homosexual wedding and congratulating the loving couple? After all, they’re in love and love is good, and they’re monogamous and monogamy is virtuous.

No so called union of two same sex will ever produce a child. To call such a wedding is agreeing with liberalism's perversion of the word marriage. We are told to be harmless as doves but wiser than the old serpent.

Regardless of the sin, God sent one of His souls to be born. I am pro-life, and that means more than just abortion prevention only. It means life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, all of which is a promise to have and hold in Christ.
