Texas Governor Defends Religious Liberties…And It’s HARDCORE!

Today marks what could be considered one of the most controversial days in the history of the United States of America. If you haven’t heard, the Supreme Court has decided that same-sex marriage is now a Constitutional right and that traditional marriage between one man and one woman is no longer the definition of marriage.

There is one state (and if you have read my articles before, you know which one I’m talking about) that is already leading the way, in essence combating SCOTUS and their disastrous decision. Of course, I’m talking about the Lone Star State.

In a directive issued in the last few hours, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott has informed all those agencies that they are to comply with the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, Article I of the Texas Constitution, and the Texas Religious Freedom Act. In other words, he just shut down same-sex marriage in Texas and ordered everyone to preserve the religious liberties and First Amendment rights of all Texans.

Read it here:

“Texans of all faiths must be absolutely secure in the knowledge that their religious freedom is beyond the reach of government,” Governor Abbott wrote in the memorandum obtained by Breitbart Texas. “Renewing and reinforcing that promise is all the more important in light of the Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges. The government must never pressure a person to abandon or violate his or her sincerely held religious beliefs regarding a topic such as marriage. That sort of religious coercion will never be a ‘compelling governmental interest,’ and it will never be ‘the least restrictive means of furthering that interest.’”

“With these obligations in mind,” Abbott continued, “I expect all agencies under my direction to prioritize compliance with the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, Article I of the Texas Constitution, and the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act. All state agency heads should ensure that no one acting on behalf of their agency takes any adverse action against any person, as defined in Chapter 311 of the Texas Government Code, on account of the person’s act or refusal to act that is substantially motivated by sincere religious belief. This order applies to any agency decision, including but not limited to granting or denying benefits, managing agency employees, entering or enforcing agency contracts, licensing and permitting decisions, or enforcing state laws and regulations.”

Texas is truly the leader in Conservative principles and continues to uphold the values held by so many Americans.  They are on the forefront in combating Obama on nearly everything thing he does.  God Bless Texas and the men and woman who fight for our freedoms everyday there.

Agree. No sleep here either, with visions of the White House looking like a Whore House.

That took some planning .... And a vendictiveness that derives from evil.

I read that thread as well, and believe therein lies an answer. The state may recognize “marriage”, but only the church can grant “Holy Mattrimony”.

Excellent post and an idea that should be expanded upon ~

President Abbott and President Jindal should be able to come to an accomodation on other, more basic issues of governance as well.

Witnessing this president deface the White House (Read: Our house) by the colors signifying and supporting the flag of perverts is an abomination.

In light of the last two unconstitutional laws passed by the so called supreme court, and after my 29 years service in the US Army, 13 years as a contractor in support of the Department of Defense, a participant in five live fire exercises and named operations too numerous to count, I never thought I would say I am embarrassed to be an American.

God bless and save this country from the perverts, communists, tyrants, and other forms of human debris.

I read these words from a book a long time ago and as far as I am concerned it is appropriate for this dark period in our history. ".....It is finished."

——where is ISIS when you need them?-——

Better be careful with that thought

ISIL is a political and military group composed of religious fundamentalists that maintain extremely conservative social values

Keep your powder dry boys. The line in the sand has been drawn again and it is about time. Like my tag line says, been there done that and ready again.

The blacked robed thugs have pushed way too far this time and our Gov is right on the money.

I was wondering about that myself. Who came up with the idea to light up the White House like a San Francisco gay bar? Makes me want to puke.

I agree with you! At this point, I think Christians need to be bolstering each other for the things that are most assuredly coming and soon. To keep the Faith these times will be an excruciating task. American Christians have thought themselves immune to the trials and persecutions that have been suffered by Christians in other nations because America was a “free” country. That’s no longer true. Many souls will be lost trying to equivocate The Word so as to be able to remain a part of the world. It’s time to encourage each other in the faith because those that are suffering from the “strong delusion” we read about in the Bible can’t be convinced that they are wrong. However, Christians who are weak in the faith need bolstering and encouraging so that they don’t fall for Satan’s lies. The world is passing away. Perhaps it’s time to look forward to the new one instead of wasting effort trying to save this one.

It is not allowed to fly a flag that upsets blacks. It’s not allowed to deny service to perverts. It’s not allowed to call blacks names that they themselves may use to describe each other. But it’s perfectly alright and permissable to profane public property in such a way as to insult the beliefs of Christians. Take heart brothers and sisters. This only means that present things are quickly passing away.
