Dr. Ben Carson has caused a major upset by coming in a confident first in the Western Conservative Summit’s straw poll in Denver, Colorado this weekend.

Carson, who boomed about his anti-political credentials in his main stage speech last night, took 26 percent of the 871 votes cast, while Carly Fiorina, who also had clear support amongst conference delegates, took 23 percent.

All you Freepers in favor of amnesty and Common Core had better start making your voices known before it's too late.

Carson? Carly?

I know Carson has already thrown in the towel on the second amendment and gay marriage

I will never vote for any of these people except Ted.

"Carson is a problem."

The concern is that the conservative that hopefully wins Oval Office in ’16 will be open to letting patriots get her/him up to speed on the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.

Carson will be a problem until the first several debates. Remember, it is early. Don't panic. I believe many of these votes are good will votes. Everyone I know likes the guy. He is admired and I admire him. But if this was a true vote for the presidency, I don't think he would be at the top. I believe these straw poll votes point more to the likeableness of the candidates. Generally speaking, if you like a candidate, you are much more likely to vote for that candidate. It is rare that someone who does not like a candidate, will vote for that candidate.

Shouldn’t the person know that before getting elected? If they don’t know that, then if it is not part of their being and reason to get elected, that person will disappoint you and many others.

Carson’s the fall guy to Give Hillary the win. Carson is nice, too nice, but he also lacks the skills to debate and to udnerstand all the issues since he has stumbled on issues before. Carly is a much better choice, but has she spoken about her stances on position yet? Not really. Trump has done much mroe than the othwer two. But Cruz and Jindal are still the two best.

But I see the raving lunatics on the left are trying to claim Jindal ran Louisiana just like they are making Kansas Governor Brownback to have. I learned the hard way that the leftists in Republican states are even loonier than those in Democrat states because they don’t run the show.

It's incredible that another Bush is running...

He's so ashamed of that surname that he won't put it on a campaign poster... so it's Jeb! ... lol

I don't live on hope.

Since Carson doesn't understand that our rights come from God, re: the 2nd Amendment, he's not ready for Prime-Time.

Cruz, on the other hand, had the Constitution memorized by the time he was 13, and has argued successfully, 9 conservative cases in front of the Supreme Court.

Additionally, he continually and consistently, makes sound conservative constitutional policy positions based on whether or not his position passes constitution muster.

CRUZ or LOSE!

From someone so passionate and knowledgeable about the constitution, this surprises me.

Yes, much better stated than mine. I don’t dislike Carson, but he’s not presidential material.

"Shouldn’t the person know that before getting elected?"

Name a president that has made sure that Congress respects its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

I have to go back to Presidents Jefferson and Madison.

"From someone so passionate and knowledgeable about the constitution, this surprises me."

Please don’t take this personally. But if patriots don’t wise up and elect a conservative to the Oval Office who is willing to help patriots peacefully exercise their voting power to force corrupt Congress back into its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited power cage, then it’s only a matter of time before we have another president as lawless as Obama.

I'm on Cruz control but Carly has been a rock on conservative values and has clearly stated her position on everything.

When you say "not really" then you have not really been paying any attention to her press conferences and public speeches.

I just donated again to TED hoping he will do really well in this quarter with fund raising, but regardless of how this quarter goes, we have a long way to go.

Looking closer you see Cruz is the cutoff.
Ben Carson support is coming from Colorado Springs “Focus on the Family” group.
Carly is not a good pick for CO because of the damage she did to HP in CO.

Distilled down its Walker and Cruz.
