Ted Cruz is a presidential candidate to be reckoned with
The Examiner ^ | July 2, 2015 | Sylvia Van Peebles, San Diego Politics

Every once in a while there comes along a candidate who is head and shoulders above the rest. Such a person is Senator Ted Cruz. He is that rare candidate who stands his ground, does not intimidate, never loses his cool and is, above all, always a gentlemen. Everyone who is anyone in the liberal media has been having interviews with Cruz. Not because they are so enamored of the Senator, but more because they are on a mission-a mission to trip him up, catch him off-guard, back him into a wall. They haven't been successful yet. Cruz is fully aware of their tactics.

Thursday The Blaze reports that a young staffer told Cruz how “nice” a member of the media is. Cruz responded with a reminder about the intentions of most reporters. “I actually stopped him and I said, ‘You know what? No, she’s not [nice]. She wants to destroy you. Nothing would make her happier than to take your life and filet you on the front pages. And don’t think for a minute that because she smiles and is friendly to you, that it’s anything else,’” Cruz said, sharing the story on The Glenn Beck Program.

Even though he agreed 100 percent, Beck questioned Cruz about his statement asking if it was a bit cynical. Cruz responded that the mainstream media is full of partisans who have “picked a team,” and “when the sheep are walking among coyotes, it pays to be cynical.” He added, “You see Republicans when they’re interviewed by left-wing reporters, and they get afraid,” Cruz said. “They want them to like them. They are not going to like us! They hate us.”(continued)

This coming from a guy who said in a very recent post:

“Egads. I get so tired of this...I voted for that turd, Romney. Before that I voted for that ghastly Democrat, John McCain, twice for Bush, and for that loser Dole.”

Yet he voted for CARTER over FORD?!!!! Unbelievable!

Keep the faith, my FRiend. I have gained it, and lost it, over many years, and am now without it, but can understand it, and appreciate it, and am familiar with men of faith and their beliefs and expressions in a higher purpose. In my humble case, I appreciate a God-fearing person who is true to their convictions, and true to their words, a million times over someone who purports to be of purpose, but is not (something I know about through life’s travails). I am settled and resolved to see a person of character and faith who has real and strong convictions and beliefs that they espouse in open and public expression, without hesitation, who will help lead us back from where we are heading. Not a simple task, but ripe for the times. I hope Cruz stays on course.

I have gained it, and lost it

I venture there is not an honest man among us who would not say, "I believe, Lord, help thou mine unbelief."

IMHO, the only thing which could make Sen Cruz an even better choice at the moment is for him to ditch the DC pubbie-elites

I just started reading his new book. He skewers the DC pubbie-elites.

Yep... All politicians are blowhards.

Cruz is anything but a blowhard.

Can you imagine a Ted Cruz, Donald Trump tag team? That would be one for the ages.

It’s only a pipe dream, as the political and media establishments (RNC for sure) would crucify him, but I would really like to see COL WEST at VP!

Rush played Cruz telling Couric how the cow ate the cabbage on Clintons as First Birthers, and the meaning of the First Amendment vis-a-vis religious freedom.

He brings a round arena and is never cornered, always delivers.

The champion is not given the title--as Hillary demands.

The leader is the prime enunciator of principle requiring no squadron of scribes or forest of teleprompter screens.

He is victorious in a large field of contenders.

Rubio is just tired of the game, I suspect. Giving it one last go. Cruz is the one to watch. As the days go by head and shoulders another the rest will turn into full body above the rest.

Cruz or lose GOP.

I still say Trump would be life insurance, like Joe Biden. JFK took LBJS for the Texas support and, well, just look how that turned out.

God does indeed work in mysterious ways. Can you imagine what President Ted Kennedy might have done?

I loved Ford for how he dealt with the Mayaguez/Cambodia incident. He immediately sent the military in. He didn’t even have to think about it. He just did the right thing.

Hi 2ndDV,

Thank you for posting this article. I believe it describes Cruz and his skill of always being “on.” I think that portends the earned media he gets, and will get. Those “crafty” leftist news readers all want to be the one who conquers him. So they all line up to give it their best.

They haven’t realized yet that TC is playing microwave, three dimensional chess. They can’t find all of the pieces on the playing field. It is his time; much like Bobby Fischer as a Grandmaster at age 14. He is wiser/sharper than the media, and they secretly hope to catch him in a weak moment. He doesn’t have them because his life has always been transparent. It was the way he was raised. He was prepared (by his experience) for this time in history and is seizing it.

I hope you have an outstanding Independence Day, my FRiend.

Ted Cruz totally gets it. How refreshingly different he is from weasels like John Beohner and Mitch McConnell, who set out to to get on the good side of the mainstream media hard left, mostly homosexual Democratic Party partisans.

They 'all' get it...It is just a matter of seeing who is working for whom...

"THE DONALD" is a blowhard, attentionwhore, and one of THE biggest corrupt "crony capitalists" on the face of the earth. He talks out of both sides of his mouth, can't be trusted, and yet some keep falling for those like him, who are just snake oil salesmen.

What??? You mean like the typical Washington politician??? Except he likes America??? Sounds like we got a winner...

Many are intrigued by him, for one silly reason or another, but in the end, he would probably lose to ANY Dem nominee.

You think Trump's issues are silly to Americans??? Not this American...

I'll gladly vote for Trump who may lose to a Democrat long before I'll vote for a Bush who might win...
