On Tuesday, someone broke into an underground vault in Sacramento, and cut several high-capacity internet cables. Nobody knows who this person is or why they did it, but since that time the FBI has revealed that it was not an isolated incident. Theyve been investigating 10 other recent attacks on the internet infrastructure of California, and they seem to be deeply troubled by the vulnerability of these cables.
........................
The article goes on to compare these incidents to similar attacks that happened in Arizona last year, as well as California in 2009. However, they may be missing the bigger picture. This whole situation reminds me of an article I wrote just over a year ago about several attacks that were carried out against the power grid, which again, occurred in California and Arizona (weird right?). This included the very unsettling attack against a power station in San Jose, which wasnt revealed until 10 months after the fact, and to date, there has been no explanation for the incident.
Rather than a bomb, the San Jose attack turned out to be a frighteningly coordinated shooting. Its estimated that 6 individuals approached the facility late at night armed with AK-47s, and opened fire, but not before sneaking onto the property and disabling the alarm system. The attackers managed to disrupt a total of 10 transformers, and escaped just before police arrived. Investigators would later find more evidence of just how professional the attack was:
After walking the site with PG&E officials and FBI agents, Mr. Wellinghoff said, the military experts told him it looked like a professional job. In addition to fingerprint-free shell casings, they pointed out small piles of rocks, which they said could have been left by an advance scout to tell the attackers where to get the best shots.
FBI doesn’t care who did it all or why. There main directive is to link it to co servative, white, tea party members.

List of potential culprits:
1) Government agency (or private contractors) looking to justify more spending on infrastructure security.
2) Whoever gets paid big bucks to fix the damage. I would be shocked, shocked to discover that unionized emergency repair crews would damage stuff so they could fix it.
3) Occupy Wall Street-type anarchist yutes (aged 15 to 60) expressing themselves by destroying the corporatist structures of capitalist enslavement, or something.
4) Illegal aliens, ISIS, Al Qaeda, China.
5) Rebel-yellin’, Confederate flag wavin’ ex-military white male conservative Christian Tea Party sovereign citizen haters.
1 through 4 are racist and offensive. Gubmint must investigate option 5 only.
I was in SF a couple of weeks ago and google was making every hit prove it wasn’t a robot. Claimed unusually high traffic volume from my server.
I was at the Hilton Garden Inn. I’m sure it is related.
Pay a Mexican drug or street gang enough money and you can get this job done.
Imagine a city with no power, no food deliveries, no fuel whatsoever. 75% of those who couldn't get out would be dead in 30 days. Most couldn't get out.
But, are they "armed" with stationary bicycle/generators?
It doesn’t really matter. In any wide scale conflagration, they will be about as effective as teats on a bull.
Most urban cities are 2 weeks (at best) from complete breakdown of resupply and services. If the EBTs go dead, cut that in half.
Hello!?
Or a Texas biker gang.
Yeah, the fat section 8 hogs may be on to something.
Looting follows the rioting, so that 3 day supply of food in the stores goes to zero quickly.
Will the water department be able to maintain clean water at pressure without power? Not for long. So, no water after a while. No way to flush human waste, but the shouldn't be a problem because the humans will be dying off quickly.
It would be utter carnage from day 1.
That is the reason why anyone who lives in an urban city, on a bus line, rail line or within walking distance of such is a fool.
Yes.
