Donald Trump doubled down on his controversial comments about illegal immigration from Mexico on Monday, saying that "infectious disease is pouring across the border."
Trump issued a lengthy — nearly 900 word — statement invoking the death of a San Francisco woman shot and killed last week by a suspect who had previously been deported to Mexico five times.
"This is merely one of thousands of similar incidents throughout the United States," Trump said Monday. "In other words, the worst elements in Mexico are being pushed into the United States by the Mexican government."
The 2016 Republican presidential candidate said that Mexican drug cartels are using immigrants to smuggle heroin, cocaine and other illicit drugs into the United States.
"The Border Patrol knows this. Likewise, tremendous infectious disease is pouring across the border," Trump continued.

Trump is the WRONG MESSENGER, even if he speaks truth. The “right message” from the “wrong mouth” taints the message. Protecting the borders and following immigration law is important. Too important to be “tainted” by an obnoxious carnival barker like Trump.
I understand your perceived need for urgency. I have felt that way (over a different issue) since June 26th when 5 robed despots decided to rewrite the COTUS to suit themselves and forced sodomite marriage on all 50 states and territories. However, I still appreciated that Cruz and Huckabee (and others) could speak STRONGLY against this without sounding like crazies. They were - for that issue - the right messengers.
I can’t think of ANY issue where Trump would be the “right messenger.” He taints whatever he touches. Since you care about the importance of this issue...you had better think twice about letting Trump get out in front. He doesn’t bring the proper attention to the issue.

I am a hard core social/moral conservative. Trump is offensive to me. I wouldn’t vote for him anymore than I would for Rubio or other GOPe types. I know a great many socoms that feel as disgusted by him as I do. HE IS HURTING THE CONSERVATIVE BASES CHANCES OF GETTING ANYTHING DONE BY HIS ASSOCIATION WITH THE GOP! He is just as bad for the party as ANY GOP establishment type.

You state the obvious. Everyone that is conservative already knows about the problems of illegals and the failure to enforce the laws regarding them. However, as I have told others here. Donald Trump may be speaking truth, but he is the wrong messenger. He taints truth by the act of him speaking it.
You ask me who I support. First of all, I am primarily in my focus a social/moral conservative. Therefore, at this time my first choice is Ted Cruz.

But there are a LOT of people that I overhear/have overheard in conversation that agree with him right now on the illegal alien problem; and they’re saying versus Hillary, they’ll go with Trump.
My statement stands as is; he is a fire hose right now, bringing a spotlight on a huge problem that everyone else is too spineless to bring up.
Will he get the nomination? Who knows; anything is possible. Look at what we have right now, as an example.
I’m backing Ted Cruz, and have been since day one. But Trump is doing what no other has the balls to do, and in my opinion, it’s a good thing and I’m glad he is.

I am NOT in support of illegal aliens - it gets me riled that the POTUS doesn’t enforce the law. I am in no way a troll. I’ve been on this forum for over a decade. However, my primary concerns - at this point - lie on other issues (stopping the homosexual agenda).
But, be that as it may, Donald Trump is a foolish candidate that should not be running. He claims he isn’t a Ross Perot, but he is acting like one. If you want to do something meaningful (and not just hot air rhetoric) about stopping illegals, then go with Ted Cruz and ignore Donald Trump. It is that simple

I don’t know what circle of persons you hang with, but even outside of my moral/social conservative one...I don’t hear any such talk. Not that people don’t think illegals are a problem....Trump is not saying anything new, just that Trump is nuts - another self absorbed man with money to waste on his vanity.
