Defiant Sweetcakes owners have until Monday to pay crushing $135k fine

After getting hit with a financially-crushing $135,000 fine last week for their decision to not bake a cake for a lesbian wedding, the Christian owners of the Oregon "Sweetcakes by Melissa" bakery say they have until Monday to pay up, or else the state of Oregon could place a lien on their home.

The punishing fine was levied by Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industry against the couple for unlawful discrimination against a same-sex couple.

They must pay in full by Monday with "personal property" rather than only business assets and the fine "has the potential to financially ruin" the family of five, according to business owner Aaron Klein. Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian "knew that full well going into this," said Klein.

Baking a cake for a lesbian wedding violates their Christian beliefs, the Kleins say, and they plan to appeal. However the fine hangs over their heads in the mean time.

"This is intimidation and bullying — that's exactly what it is," Klein told Fox News in an interview." They are trying to strong-arm me into handing over $135,000 to the two girls and if I win on appeal — they will never pay me back."

They need to file in court for a stay and a hearing after Avakian denies them for a stay (they have to finish due administrative process and that’s the last step). Then they need to file a lawsuit against Avakian personally for abuse of authority under color of law and take the little bastard to the cleaners.

“...or else what ?...”

From the article:
“...or else the state of Oregon could place a lien on their home...”
-
Which I don’t understand how that would matter much,
unless you were intending to sell.

I think the 8th Amendment says something about this, not that we live under the rule of law or anything.

The Homosexual Supremacists are on the march!

Where is their right to trial by jury?

It seems that the states are setting up more and more commissions and trying to enforce their policies through these unaccountable bodies.

I say let the war begin.

The war is already begun. Too many of us refuse to believe it is a war. But the end results will be the same: on our knees or in a mass grave.

Even left wingers know a power mad government employee is never a good thing

No they do not. Unless they are a singled out as a target. Even then I don't think they get it most of the time.

Sole proprietorship v Corporation v Closely held Corporation (Chapter S?)

A Sole Proprietorship can be sued for all of his assets business, personal, or otherwise. All income is taxed once.

Any form of Corporation is taxed twice. Once as a corporation and again on the distribution of income to the owners (stockholders) Liability is limited to corporate assets.

Above is very simplified...

It makes a difference on the form of your business, and how the entities conduct themselves.

In a closely held corporation you can pierce the limited liability shield by co-mingling corporate and personal funds.

Where is their right to trial by jury?....It wasn’t a criminal trial. And that right of which you speak left the arena with Woodrow Wilson.

Liberals need to remember the hand that feeds you today may slaughter you tomorrow. A government that seeks total control over the individual is the enemy, even if it espouses your point of view today.

The lien holder could force a Sherriff’s Sale after a period of time goes by.

Neither I or many others in this nation would allow it to reach either event.

I’d like to see about 50,000 local citizens surround this place and tell the officials to pound sand. (among other things)

a financially-crushing $135,000 fine last week for their decision to not bake a cake for a lesbian wedding

...is what the "do not judge" demons demand from those who refuse to corrupt themselves. "Lesbian wedding"... what a ridiculous concept. Yet these evil beasts are hell-bent on destroying anyone who won't play pretend.

Discerning (judging) good from evil is a mindset that the dark side must crush. Of course it is the wicked who rant and squeal about not being judged, as they know righteous judgment means their end.

Meanwhile, falsely accusing, judging and punishing the righteous is considered proper, ethical, and necessary. What else to expect from deluded reprobates who have rejected reality and replaced it with absurd, wacked-out lies. The natural order of biological reality is the work of the Creator, with whom these reprobates are in utter rebellion.

The crazies have put themselves in the place of God and as their own gods aren't even capable of grasping basic concepts.

Whoa, way too hard...
