I agree, the title is misleading. Better would be “Whataburger customers say ‘goodbye’ over opposition to open carrying customers at their stores.” It’s their right, but customers also have a right to walk.

Just gotta tuck it away. I hate to hear W.B. taking this stance, but I’ve eaten there many times....packin on the sly.

Try to notify them by certified mail or try to file a small claims action against them. First of all, it’s impossible to find out who will accept service. There are a lot of phone numbers in Austin for Whataburger.

If you ever to get through you’ll be contacted by a “representative” out of Lexington, Kentucky. It’s a shame that a Texas tradition like Whataburger has to have Kentucky lawyers protecting them. I guess Texas lawyers aren’t good enough.

The story is about Texas OC law.

I really don’t think we need open carry but I still don’t like activist businesses... they have a choice and so do I.

I’ll miss the malts but I can do better without them. It’ll be good to get back to Oklahoma so I’ll still have Braum’s.

So far off the list are: Booger King, Olive Garden, Whataburger, McDonalds....

That has been one of the biggest lies out of the Obamao regime. “Ignoring the volatile energy component, consumer prices are up 0.00001%.” Liars, I don’t know anything that hasn’t gone up signicantly. I went to Academy to buy a pair of Stranglers the other day. $40. The same pair of Ariat boots that was $100 a few years ago is now $180.

Right... can’t eat lunch for less than 8 to 12... Dinner is 40 or more for 2 and I don’t see how people do it.

You’re in Corpus?!

Me, too.

Corpus ain’t like it used to be either, huh?

Although in a lot of ways, it’s the same ol’ thang...

“The story is about Texas OC law.”

And if Whataburger was ONLY in Texas, you’d have a point.

So try again - please tell me what problems Whataburger has had in the past 2 years with Oklahoma’s Open Carry law - a law that they DID NOT have a problem with.

If you cannot, you shouldn’t be posting on this site.

Gosh Bob, I didn’t know this was your site.

And the story is not about Oklahoma.

Are you going to bring up Guam next?

I do not understand why businesses get political. It’s never a good idea.

This is a site where people DO NOT support EMOTIONAL RESPONSES and, especially, extortion from the left.

If we did, we would ALL be against Concealed Carry (and Open Carry) because our EMOTIONS would be telling us that states would become like the Wild West with shootouts everywhere.

So, PLEASE, take your EMOTIONAL RANTS to a liberal site, or, please give us some links showing that Open Carry is somehow bad for business or otherwise dangerous - ANYWHERE.

You CANNOT have it both ways - either you show us why we’re wrong, or you belong on a liberal site, where you can let the world know about your emotional fear of guns.

I agree

Everybody’s money is as green as the next. By getting political you alienate part of your customer base.

I have never understood that.

I read they are not prohibiting firearms in their stores just openly carried firearms. I don’t see this as a problem BUT if it is not for everyone then I say B.S. So guys with badges should have to cover theirs up to. If they claim “GUNS” make people nervous then a badge should have no bearing on the equation.

“It seems you are very emotional about this Bob.”

Yea, I am...I get mad as hell when businesses treat me like crap based on their emotional fears, or extortion. I get madder when people defend those businesses.

Again - on what FACTUAL basis is Whataburger setting this policy?

There was a time when I wished they’d bring Whataburger to Colorado.

Not anymore.

I get your point and generally agree with the basis of your question about facts. In this case, customers expressing emotions becomes a business fact since Whataburger has to be responsive. Now those who support OC can make that a business fact for WB, too.

“Again - on what FACTUAL basis is Whataburger setting this policy?”

It’s their company. The Texas OC law has a 30.07 provision.

Their property, their rules.

Don’t be so emotional.

Burger joints. There is no monopoly when it comes to them.

That's what gets me - with all that competition, they go and antagonize part of their customer base? Those customers look around and find some other burger joint equally as good - or better - and never come back.
