New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and state lawmakers have agreed to change parts of the draconian NY SAFE Act in relation to ammo sales.

The move, brokered by state Republicans and the governor’s office, would suspend the requirements of the 2013 Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act that mandate background checks for ammunition sales in the Empire State until a planned sales database could be perfected.

Republican Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan signed the Memorandum of Understanding late Friday with Cuomo staffers after GOP compromises on New York rent control issues, the Oleans Times Herald reported.

While Flanagan has not released a statement, other state Republicans who pushed for reforms this session but weren’t able to get them to Cuomo’s desk, are talking up the Albany deal as a win for gun rights.

“I think it’s very significant,” said Sen. James Seward, R-Milford. “This is a banner day for law-abiding gun owners in New York.”

Adopted in 2013 just days after the mass killing at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, that took the lives of 26 students and faculty, the SAFE Act expanded New York’s definition of what constitutes an assault weapon, limited magazine capacity, ushered in a host of mental health changes in regards to firearms possession, and called for a database of ammunition sales while throwing up a roadblock to Internet sales of live ammo. . .

Notice how quickly the RINOs suck-up to the Donkeys to “fix” the SAFE Act instead of repealing this evil legislation. Time is ticking down when the uni-party will feel strong enough to attack NY shooters to confiscate their arms. They intend to kill us to frighten us into compliance, and they are wrong. The victims get the last vote. You kill us and we kill you back.

A question for the gun grabbers and their fellow travelers: Once you've started the killing, how do you stop it? Once you wannabe oppressors start becoming room temperature, how do you pacify the rage of the innocent victims? I think the victims will want to exterminate their oppressors and they won't stop until you've been taught a lesson you gun grabbers cannot forget.

How is a deferred rape at a later date a victory?
Because that is exactly what is coming to the firearms owners in this state.

Did they lift the Internet Sales restriction? NYS is a functioning example systemic rot and repressive policy as ever was.

I think you’re probably not off in your guess. This whole thing is about money and revenue that the state of NY is not going to get from internet ammo sales.

In doing this, Cuomo has the laws on the books but can put forth any BS reason for not implementing yet and still collect taxes. This is what these people are about: money and control.

This is the equivalent of having one’s cake and eating it too.

NO NO NO NO YOU IDIOT!

You don't compromise with these morons - you stop them in their tracks!

All you've done is give gun owners (those who are paying attention) a chance to stock up.

$10.00 added to each ammo sale?

The local NPR station reported this morning that the internet prohibition has NOT been lifted. Reports to the contrary are wrong.

Exactly right. It was not implemented because they did not have the database program. Once the program has been developed, they will move on with their plans.

I want to know why ONE gun manufacturer remains in New York... I want to know why ANY gun manufacturer would sell guns to the state government of NY... I want to know why ONE ammo manufacturer would sell ammo to the state government of NY...

Questions to ponder...

I’ve read recently that 85% of NY Gun Owners are ignoring the new laws!
